I had the same problem and was told it was the fuel pressure regulator. Much cheaper than new fuel injectors!

I have the 1999 suburban, and my mechanic says that the injectors are worn, and that when you shut off the engine, fuel pressure continues briefly and the injectors "leak" a bit, flooding the engine briefly. That's why after they still start right up after a few minutes, i.e., not enough time to flood, or they start up cold, having drained any of the fuel out of the injectors. Park for a couple hours, and you've got a mildly flooded engine. Replacing the injectors is what he suggested, but that is pricey. Not sure if this is the answer or not, but it's what I've been told. Good luck!

SOURCE: durango starts sometimes. then acts like its

I would suggest starting with the less expensive solutions first. If you pull the air intake hose off the throttle body and open the throttle with the engine off look down inside if it is black try spraying it out with throttle body cleaner make sure to spray it out good. Afterwards start it you may have to keep your foot on the gas for a few minutes to make sure it doesn't stall then take your foot off the gas pedal and see if it stays running if it does your throttle body just needed cleaned. Note do not use carb cleaner use throttle body cleaner only, carb cleaner can damage the sensor in your throttle body.

Use a bottle of yellow HEET dry gas to remove any moisture problem in the fuel.

Clean / replace air filter.

2002 alero ran.shut off won't restart.Replaced fuel filter,now it gets gas,but still won't start.

For some reason aleros have this problem every once in awhile. It might be the security on the alero. What you would have to do is turn the key all the way to accel i believe right before you start it and let it sit for about 13 minutes. affter this the security will recognise itself and start your car

1972 olds 98 455ci starts and runs fine when its cold but once i've driven it for awhile it starts sputtering like its running out of gas

sounds like a vapor lock. older cars needed a set of points . they kept firing times in sync with fuel delivery , valves opening/closing try that.

When my 1972 chevrolet 350 4 barrel is warmed up it acts like its not getting gas and jerks and eventually dies. if i wait a few minutes it will start up but after slight acceleration it starts it aga

Good chance it is not getting fuel, or enough fuel.
When the rig is cold, the choke is closed. As it warms up, the choke opens.
If the metering jets inside the carb are dirty, they may not be letting enough fuel into the barrels. You could also have a vac leak that is masked by the choke until the engine warms up.

Chugs, acts like it's not getting gas once warmed up. Idle's fine

This problem can be several things. When your engine is cold, your computer is in a "closed loop" and just pretty much keeps the engine running until warmed up. After reaching operation temperature, the computer starts reading all the sensors. If one sensor is not connected or is defective, you will experience performance problems. Most of the time this will turn on the check engine light, but not always. Second is the fuel pump. This too will cause erratic engine problems.
