Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
So my speedometer has not been working right for about a month. It seems to work until about 45+mph and then it just bobs up and down between 55-65mph. Just yesterday, I left the gas station and jumped on the freeway and immediately notice an acceleration problem (very sluggish) and then noticed that it wasn't shifting up past 3rd gear. Rpm's are running 4500-5000 at about 60-70mph and it just won't shift up. Any ideas?
Sounds like there are a couple issues with your Jetta. First if you notice the issue with the speedo only after a certain speed, then it may be a TCM relay ( transmission control module ) may need to be reset. The issue with your transmission may be related but try having it serviced. May need to be flushed and have your filter replaced. Hopefully that will help, sometimes it can be a costly service.
