Look up subject of "Intake runners" for your engine. There are things which are monitored under the Diagnostic onboard computer and some that are not.

What happens with the "Intake runners" is your intake manifold has 2 chambers which are separated by the runners. The runners are like shudders and constantly shift to provide optimum airflow to the engine. When the runners get dirty they may not move the same distance on both sides of the engine leading to an imbalance.

After you research these parts further, you will need to decide if you want to try a cleaning additive or remove the intake and work on the runners.

Obd 2 code reads p 15 18. There is no code number to relate to the problem. Do you have the answer? [ check engine light on 1999 ford taurus]

code p1518= intake manifold runner control (IMRC) malfunction (stuck open)

the intake manifold has two runners per cylinder, feeding each of the cylinder heads
the IMRC assemblies are located between the intake manifold and two air passages for each cylinder.
one air passage is always open and the other passage switches from means of a valve plate.
below 3000 rpm, this valve plate is closed to improve low speed performance.
above 3000 rpm, this valve plate opens to improve high-speed exceleration.
the valve plates are opened and closed by the IMRC deactivation by the powertrain control module
(pcm) if your car or truck is not affected by the error code, the pcm may need to be reprogrammed
so that the error does not come up again. or you can connect an obd2 scanner and reset ever y time
it comes up. good luck!

Vacumm control for intake runner

Are you refering to the EGR valve?
Also, when they replace something on your vehicle, they are required to reset the check engine light. Otherwise you won't know if something goes wrong again because the light is already on. Sounds fishy to me. It may be just a vacuum leak, but is good to have new plugs and wires and fuel and air filter.

1992 toyota 4 runner engine check light on mach. says erro code 25 can some one tell me what this is and how to fix it

25 means the thing is saying it's running lean. all the check areas, however, are not for the home mechanic to play with.

How to reset the ''Check Engine'' light on a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner?

You need to reset the light with a scan tool, the same one you used to read the code in the first place.

Check engine light on

This is a code that is indicating you have a problem with the "bank 1, O2 sensor 1" heater circuit. Bank one is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1, and sensor #1 is the O2 sensor on that side that is before the catalytic converter. This code sets when the computer senses that it either takes too much or too little current to drive the heater inside the O2 sensor. Typically, most shops would simply put a new O2 sensor in this location as it is ten years old and there is a good chance that the O2 sensor has burnt out However, there is a possibility that the driver circuitry has a problem as well.

I would replace the sensor, I believe it is the one on the passenger side between the engine and the cat. After that, you will have to drive it a bit for the code to cancel, or you could have it reset with a scan tool.
