Ignition switch wont come out how to take the steering collom off

    turn key to on position,(not start) there should be three screw holes in the steering column plastic and a small hole below the ignition, with the key turned forward there is a small ball inside the switch you push in (small pick or coathanger) through the hole in the plastic and the switch will slide out with this pressed in.

Ignition switch tumbler


remove the steering collom shroud and with key in the lock turn to the first click you will find a resested pin in the uuter housing depress the pin and the barrel/ tumbler can be wiht drawn with the key and yes you can get a new one with a new key

it could be the switch it self you have to take apart side of steering collom or you mite have to pull steering wheel to get to switch

I cant get my 94 buick regal custom to start after the airbag was deployed.


AIR BAG WLL NOT AFECT THE ENGINE.IF IT WAS IN A ACCIDENT CHECK ALL THE FUSES . AND ENGINE HARNESS.ALLSO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND OR TANK. AND INSPECT STEERING COLLOM FOR DAMAGE TO IGNITION STWICH IF EQUIPT WITH PASS KEY WILL NEED TO FIX THAT FIRES(RESISTOR IN KEY)

I tried fixingMy 87 ramcharger but it ran great after I reconnected the ground wire and the ignition rod connects to the steering collom but it wirked great then it wouldn't start I believe its the...


All the alternator does is charge the battery while you drive. Check if your new battery is dead. But I suspect some wire between the ignition and the starter is off or wrong.

youre igni. switch is defective,i would pull out ign.or fuel pump fuse to make it stall,then unhook batt. not to drain.
