Tighten in sequence to 29ft.lbs then tighten in sequence to 58ft lbs. then loosen all bolts. Then tighten in sequence to 33ft lbs. then tighten each bolt in sequence 90 degrees then tighten each bolt again 90 degrees

Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown in figure. Using the 4 step torque turn method, tighten according to the following values.
  1. Tighten center fasteners 1 thru 6 to 33 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) . Then outer fasteners 7 thru 10 to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) .
  2. Tighten center fasteners 1 thru 6 to 67 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) . Then outer fasteners 7 thru 10 to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) .

bolts 1-10 ( large bolts )

step 1 21 ft lbs.
step 2 44 ft lbs.
step 3 loosen all bolts
step 4 21 ft lbs.
step 5 additional 50-55 degrees

bolts 11-15 small bolts

56-74 in. lbs

2.0L 4 cylinder

step 1 29 ft lbs.
step 2 58 ft lbs.
step 3 loosen all bolts
step 4 23-25 ft lbs.
step 5 additional 90-95 degrees

Can't find cylinder head torques!!! please advice....


Torque sequence: ----------------- there are two rows of fasteners and you need to start with the middle 2 fasteners first and then work your way toward the front and back in steps. Step 1: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 10 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 20 Ft/Lbs Step 3: torque head bolts #1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9 in sequence to 29 Ft/Lbs Step 4: turn all head bolts in sequence an additional 90 degrees Step 5: turn all head bolts in sequence an additional 90-degrees recheck final torque in sequence. Fasteners are supposed to be replaced if they are removed since they are torque-to-yeild fasteners.

① Step 1: 22 ft. lbs. Step 2: 59 ft. lbs. Step 3: Loosen completely then retorque to 22 ft. lbs. Step 4: 18-25 ft. lbs. Step 5: Plus 86-91 degrees ② 10-12 ft. lbs. plus 60-65 degrees or 28-33 ft. lbs. ③ The cylinder heads and the lower intake manifold are installed together Step 1: Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 22 ft. lbs. What is the cylinder head torque spec for a 2005 nissan sentra 1.8 liter engine


  1. For 1.8L engines, tighten the bolts in sequence, as follows:
    1. Step 1: Bolts 1-10 to 22 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
    2. Step 2: Bolts 1-10 to 43 ft. lbs. (59 Nm).
    3. Step 3: Loosen bolts 1-10 completely.
    4. Step 4: Bolts 1-10 to 22 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
    5. Step 5: Bolts 1-10 plus 50-55 degrees.
    6. Step 5: Bolts 11-14 to 74 inch lbs. (8 Nm).

hi.im a mechanic from the philippines.the torque of all your cylinder head for your nissan sentra 1997 is 60 nm.apply 30 nm of torque first on all the cylinderhead bolts then torque it agian directly to 60 nm. i also drive and repair nissan cars.
