Radiator fan relay . Where is it located?

First let me preface this by saying that this is going to be a pain. You are looking at a few hours of work.

The radiator fan relay is located underneath the passenger head light, but you can't see it unless you you remove the plastic housing around the light which would entail removing the bumper.

It looks something like the picture and has a 4 pin connector the color might be a tan or grey: nvannoy_0.jpg

How can i tell if my radiator fan relay is blown

you will need to hold the engine at 2000 rpm in park till the temp gauge comes up too temp and then beyond. If the fan doesn't kick on and the engine is getting very hot try to turn on the a/c that usually turns on the fan but don't let it over heat. The best thing to do is to just change the fan relay (they are known for going bad) which is located behined the passenger head light inside the passenger fender. It is a pain to get to.Some like to remove the head light assembly and cut a hole in the sheet metal behind it to access the relay easier since they like to go bad.other than that you will have to go through the passenger wheel well by removeing all the plastics to get inside the fender.

I have 2002 jeep cherokee and radiator fan stays on when jeep is off. Pulled fuse and it shuts off, put fuse back in it turns on. Someone told me it was the realy switch. Where is it located?

the relay switch is located behind the passenger side head light. I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. The manual says to remove the bumper, but this is way too much work. I cut a 3" x 5" hole in the plastic with a dremel tool. Start 6" from the fender make a small hole so you can see it. It is a blue box 2" square.
The price for the relay in Canada is $110.00, dealer only!

I was told my radiator fan relay was bad. where is this located?

Open the hood. You see the battery on the passenger side. Right behind the batt is a black box with all main relay's. Open the box, inside you find a description for each relay at this place. Change the one you're told you need to change it.

What is the easiest way to get to the radiator fan relay on the bumper behind the front grille?

Yes, first remove the drivers side headlight. There are 3 bolts to remove for the headlight assembly. Once it is removed, you can have access to the relay. You may have to remove some of the screws that hold the top of the front facia to the cross member to give you some more access, but you don't have to take off the whole grill to replace the relay. Hope this helps.
