Question about 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCab
I cannot check the previous replies to you but have you checked the solenoid of your tranny? Check if it has voltage running to it or probably needs cleaning. If can also check on the valves of the gear. The solenoid and the valves are located near each other. You can have it checked if it is clogged. Normally these are the things to look at and normally at fault when the tranny does not engage properly. Other than that you can look into the fuid if draining and replacing with new oil helps.

Could be a number of things. First is there the correct amount of fluid, smell trans fluid, if it smells burnt then bands are starting to slip. If not valve body of filter could be getting plugged, which could be caused by slipping bands, when bands break down they put grit in fluid. Also could be torque converter going bad. You don't stat how many miles on it? Have you ever had trans fluid and filter changed? Let me know.
