Put the transmission in neutral and try and turn the engine with the drive belt, pull the spark plugs out first, that makes it very easy to turn by hand.

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi eclipse GS 5 speed manual transmission. Clutch had just been replaced few months prior to current issue. Was out for a ride one night when all of a sudden my car didn't want to...

It is possible that the problem you are experiencing with your Mitsubishi Eclipse could be due to an issue with the transmission or the clutch. Without more information or the opportunity to diagnose the problem, it is difficult to say for sure what the cause might be. Some possible reasons for the symptoms you describe could include:
  • A problem with the clutch hydraulic system, such as a leak or a failed component
  • A problem with the shift linkage or shift cables
  • A problem with the transmission itself, such as a damaged gear or a failed component
To accurately diagnose the problem, it is best to have a mechanic inspect the car and perform any necessary tests. They may need to check the condition of the clutch, the transmission, and any related components to determine the cause of the issue and recommend the appropriate repairs. Keep in mind that even if the clutch was recently replaced, it is still possible for it to fail again if it was not installed properly or if it was not the correct type for your car.

01 mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 v6 manual transmission

What were the rpms when you shifted? It could have been the engine. Does the engine crank over? If not you may have engine problems. Seized or timing belt or bent valves.
