Sportag 2001 120000 km - drink 6 km for 1 liter ? what i have to chek ? miko

If there is a serious loss of power, look at the exhaust manifold. There should be a flange where the exhaust expands out. This is the "pre cat" and has tendency to plug and create fuel consumption issues and power issues. What else is going on with it?

On the kia 2002 sportage i spent 15 Litres of fuel for 100KM is that normal?and can you tell me the normal Litres of gas foor 100KM on the kia 2002 sportage

That fuel consumption is a bit heavy, but not excessive, depending on the driving conditions. In heavy traffic and slow town driving with a lot of stop starts it would be acceptable but on the open road in 2 wheel mode it would be excessive. Kia do not seem to manage much better than about 8-10 l/100km, even on their sedans.

The problem is high consumption of fuel. The car starts good, runs well, but the fuel consumption is about 20 liters per 100 km in the city and about 15 liters per 100 km at highway. My suppositions...

Fuel injector are worn out they. Might be dribbling as a bigger engine it won't stall or flood it raises the idling making you feel it's power but consuming more fuel

I need to replace plugs and wire on a 1999 sportage. Where are they in the engine? [email protected]

javlinenterp , Hi mate, I have just replaced mine today in my 2000 Sportage 2 liter DOHC Sportage. It is not difficult, just time consumeing. Remove the main breather pipe and throttle cables etc, then undo the 6 bolts holding the black plastic cover in the middle of the rocker cover. Then undo the 2 bolts secureing each of the 2 spark coils and pull up the plug connerctors. The plugs are about 8 inches down inside the head. Take them out and put in the new ones, Job done. Cheers Jay Ar, Carnarvon West Aust.
