Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra
2000 ehyundai elantra. Can't pump fuel without pump tripping off afer every few cents pumped in. Takes FOREVER to fill tank!!
What's the problem? Ideas to fix it?????
Most vehicles have an anti-trickle valve that prevents you from continuously trickling gas in. On most vehicles, the valve is tripped when the hose is put into the inlet pipe and in all cases prevents you from overflowing the fuel onto the ground.
This anti-trickle valve has failed (likely) or is not being activated when the filler pipe is put in (less likely). Options: 1) You can remove the fuel filler neck and replace the valve (if available). Some assemblies are only sold in units (late 90's LR Disco 1's). 2) You can by-pass the valve (possibly activating a ck eng problem). 3) You can try to clean the valve and see if there's an obstruction there or in the tube leading from the valve to the tank assembly.

Dear friend-you will have to have a look at the rooting of your filler pipe, there must be a restriction in the pipe.rather remove and inspect properly
