You are going to have to splice into the tail lights wiring with the u haul trailer connector.
You have to match up the wires to correct colors, then wrap them with electrical tape .

SOURCE: 04 f 250 trailor hook up

Check your receptacle with a test light, to find out if it's the truck or the trailer that's the problem. If you have power at the truck, then take your trailer rceptacle apart, and see what's going on in there. If you don't find it in the plug ins, just work your way back with a test light. Its corrosion or a broken wire somewhere. Wiring can drive you nuts.

Hi,I have 2010 stralis, the handbook is written in Norwegen i think, when ihook up to trailor the near side trailor lights do not work,i cant work out which fuse i need to change,Help

when hooking up trailers ,the problems are usually in the plug connections. It is very possible that there is a broken wire in a plug or the wiring in the car is different to the plug. If the lights of the vehicle all work then it is not a fuse but in the plugs or trailer.

Why on both sides my lower break light won't come on? i changed both asseblies and the left side blowed the upper break light, i replaced it but still the lower on both sides won't work 2002 jeep gran

Return the vehicle to the Uhaul dealer and demand that they repair it. It is evident, by your description, that they bungled the job. If they refuse, contact the Better Bussiness Bureau in your area and have them contact Uhaul. Most Uhaul dealers do excellent work and they have a great reputation....so try and work with the rep and they will most likely fix it for you for free this time, since they didn't get it right the first time. Parking and tail lights out after plugging in trailer with bad lights. uhaul said all fuses were fine and sent me on my way saying it was a common toyota problem and basically blew me off.

I"ll say, and what a **** for causing the problem, and then not fixing it. I would complain fiercely to U-haul. If the lights were fine before hooking up to trailer, and then went out, they obviously caused it. And it's not a "common toyota problem"...they're just trying to get out of it. Possibly they shorted out your headlight switch.

When pulling a trailor my fuse keeps blowing, the fuse box under the hood what size fuse is it? F-350 deisel 05

I experience that alot working near a uhaul and customers try to install the hitches there selves.i often find alot of expose wires that tend to ground out on the frame or come in contact with each other. check the trailer harness to make sure nothing is exposed.

Hi, When I hook up my trailer, I get running

according to wiring diagram no module . do you have pwr at trailor connector. should be green w/ white wire coming into trailor connector. ( I believe pin 7 on connector ground should be pin 5 and is white with black wire )

I need to hook up a boat trailor Whats the color code for a 1995

I suspect that the 4 wire harness includes a ground, so you may not be able to connect both brake lights and turn signals, which are separate lamps on the pickup. You may need to get an adapter.

In any case, the color codes on the pickup are:

Tail lights -- pink/blue
Brake Lights -- green/yellow
Left turn signal -- gray/blue
Right turn signal -- gray/red
Ground -- black

Hi, plug in in the back does not work for a hook up on my trailor. all the tail lights on the truck do work. the trailor about half of them work. i do not have tail lights or backup lights and my left...

You probably have corrosion in the socket on your truck. You'll have to take the plug in apart and check it. Or, it could be loose, damaged or broken wires leading to the plug.

Tow bar wiring

You need a Trailer Light Power Module - Uhaul, or anywhere that sells hitches and accessories. The module will power the lights directly from the battery - it still hooks into your car's lighting system, but only for sensing purposes, it doesn't put an extra load on the lighting system.

Here's an example from Uhaul:

Hope this helps :)
