My nissan 1400 champ the coil gets warm and there is no spark at the points , i replaced the pkugs abd the pkugs leads and the distributor , what can be the cause ?

Well the coil should not get hot - indicates too much current, meaning points are not doing their thing. Go back to basics - follow elect from battery - to points, point action correct- gap correct - measure voltage at coil, should go up and down as you hand turn the engine. Also put in a new capacity around the points.

Nissan 1400

distributor cap and rotor problem - there is your problem. If you do not put those suckers back in the same exact position, with the exact same markings, it will cause the car to fire the spark plugs at different times, causing miss fire and some times no firing at all.

Nissan 1400 pick up is not starting how do you set the points for igition

Check for spark to the spark plugs during the no start period. If you do not have spark the crank sensor in the distributor is a common failure in these.

How do I connect Nissan 1400 electronic distributor to the coil

New Electronic Distributor comes with Red and Blue wires. Ensure that you first turn the crank pulley to align with 0 degree. Remove old distributor and insert the new electronic distributor to the same hole ensuring that the the roter points towards number one plug. Follow the firing order to insert high tension leads. Connect two wires from the electronic distributor to the coil, ensuring that the Red is wired to the + and Blue to the - . The + coil must also have the + wire from the ignition switch. Connect the middle coil lead to the middle point of the distributor cap. Lastly, you are ready to start the engine and allow it to warm up. Use the timing light to setup the final timing of Nissan 1400 to 8 degrees. Hope this information helps. From Stanley Nthulane.
