If the light is on for the passenger side, the light will be on in the dash also. Have some one or you sit in the passenger seat and turn the car on. If you don't have a problem, the lights go out. It is made this way. Passenger presence sensor. Goes by weight. In case you put a small child in front. The air bags won't deploy.
Check fuses and relays their are different locations for air bag sensors and their is also seat belt sensors and seat switches [check the connections under the seat ]---their are sensors under the front bumper behind the valance by the radiator support also if air bag curtains passenger side between inner fender, door and door pillar the following links have information or what to look for and assist in solving your problem the recall doesn't cover your vehicle but it pertained to the passenger air bag problem as well as the 05 posting

is this van new for you ? is it a status light letting you know that the airbag is loaded and ready for anypassenger that you have in your van ? do you have a key that you can turn it off in most vans there is an option to turn air bag on or off depending on size or opinion of passenger . im thinking that if its a status light its okay to be on letting you know its ready for opperation . take a look at your owners manual airbag section . and if it does turn out to be a warning malfunction indicator please dont waste time take it to your local dealer and have it checked out .hope this information helps good luck

there is a wire that is attached via your seatbelt latch that runs under the seat.
It will make a "DING" sound when the seatbelt is unlatched and the the door is open.
Find the wire and pull it out then complete the circuit by wrapping the 2 wires together and maybe throw a little tape on em!
Bam !!!
prob solved.
Or you could just pull the fuse for that sensor. haha

Certainly not good to drive with airbag off, but it may just be a burned out fuse so check your fuse panel(s) for a bad fuse, which will cause light to come on.

First of all you need to get this problem fixed ASAP. While the airbag light is illuminated, your SDM (Sensing and Diagnostic Module aka: the brain of your airbag system) shuts of power to the airbags. In which, if you are in an accident your airbags will not deploy while this light is illuminated. You need to take your vehicle to a GM dealership. A Tech 2 scantool is needed to retrieve the code from the SDM. Hopefully it won't be a costly repair, but is something that defineatly needs to be corrected soon. Good luck and hope all works well.

Did you use a aftermarket O2 sensor or a genuine Hyundai one? If it's an aftermarket one it may be bad or not as good as the OEM one. See here for more details and other potential causes: P0133
