If the light is on for the passenger side, the light will be on in the dash also. Have some one or you sit in the passenger seat and turn the car on. If you don't have a problem, the lights go out. It is made this way. Passenger presence sensor. Goes by weight. In case you put a small child in front. The air bags won't deploy.

SOURCE: air bag light

there is a wire that is attached via your seatbelt latch that runs under the seat.
It will make a "DING" sound when the seatbelt is unlatched and the the door is open.
Find the wire and pull it out then complete the circuit by wrapping the 2 wires together and maybe throw a little tape on em!
Bam !!!
prob solved.

Or you could just pull the fuse for that sensor. haha

Certainly not good to drive with airbag off, but it may just be a burned out fuse so check your fuse panel(s) for a bad fuse, which will cause light to come on.

SOURCE: chevy silverado 2006 lights "service air bag"

First of all you need to get this problem fixed ASAP. While the airbag light is illuminated, your SDM (Sensing and Diagnostic Module aka: the brain of your airbag system) shuts of power to the airbags. In which, if you are in an accident your airbags will not deploy while this light is illuminated. You need to take your vehicle to a GM dealership. A Tech 2 scantool is needed to retrieve the code from the SDM. Hopefully it won't be a costly repair, but is something that defineatly needs to be corrected soon. Good luck and hope all works well.

Did you use a aftermarket O2 sensor or a genuine Hyundai one? If it's an aftermarket one it may be bad or not as good as the OEM one. See here for more details and other potential causes: P0133

PO-139 I had that sensor change 3 weeks ago and the check engine light came on again this morning. Thanks

Probably replaced a good sensor. This codes could be from a bad sensor, a vacuum leak, or an exhaust leak before the sensor.

air bad light has nothig to do with a oxigen sensor the reason you got a oxigen sensor codes is cause the air bag system uses a different kind of code tester most auto parts stores dont have them.

Air bag light stays on

I had the same issue wit my 2006 Hyunda Santa Fe air bag light staying on. I had the system scanned and it was the passenger bottom seat. It has sensors in the padding that monitor the weight on the seat. If it is over 40-60 pounds then in case of an accident the air bag will deploy. This is to protect children in case they are setting in the front seat. However if the wire sensors over time break and the circuit is open then the air bag light will stay on. The bottom seat is around $300 dollars not counting labor to replace.

Air bag light is on

Working on the SRS is very hazardous and therefore is not a DIY repair. Take the car to a professional for diagnosis and repair of the SRS.

I have a new 2009 Elantra, three weeks old. ''Passenger Air Bag Off'' light stayed on while driving to work. With car running, went around and sat in passenger seat, made adjustments, etc. Light went out...

That light is letting you know that there is insufficient weight on the seat - so the sensor did not turn on the airbag.

The next time you turn the vehicle on - it will do the same... if there is not ??45lbs?? in the seat.

If there is nobody in the seat and the light goes out - the sensor (or under-seat wiring) is bad.

Air bag light stays on

If your airbag light comes on it means its not working. Some of the newer airbag systems have weight sensors under the seats and anything lodged under them can disable the passenger airbag and possibly cause the light to go on. If there are no other symptoms, and nothing impeding the airbags then the car thinks the airbag wont work. If you are concerned for your son's safety, take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check/replace your airbag. Good Luck!
