What do I need to fix? How do I open up the
seat back to expose the cable? I need lots
more info and detailed instructions to fix this
problem. I don't know what part I need anyway,
so going to a junk yard would be no help! Much
    more info needed.....

How close does the seat get to flat? That will give me an idea of what exactly is holding it up. I will see if I can find some diagrams for you as far as repairs.

Thanks

Tim

It's cheapest if you go to a scrap yard or accident vehicle and look for the replacement.Definitely better off moneywise.

I have a 1991 Volvo 740 wagon. I've tried to put the back seats down flat before, but i can never quite get it to go down all the way. Is it possible? If so, how? Thanks!

You have to flip the bottom of the rear seat forward. There should be a strap to pull where the seat bottom and seat back meet. The seats will not fold all the way down with out flipping the bottom up first.

First you reach for the tab near the center of each "half" of the back seat bottom at the back (in the crack of the seat). Pull the tab forward and up, pivoting the bottom of the seat toward the front. Ensure the front seats are forward enough to allow the seat bottom to lie flat on the floor. Next, reach up along the (outer) side of the seat back, and lift the lever, while folding the seat back forward. You may need to pivot or remove the headrest(s). The seat back should lie flush atop the upside down seat bottom. This works for my 2002 Olds Bravada, which is supposed to be similar. Good luck!

Why won't my left rear seat lock in my 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro?

is it jammed upright or flat? if its the same problem mum had with her car.. i fixed it by sitting on the seat, holding button down and jerking the seat forward quickly (holding it so it didn't come away from the hinge) and as soon as it gives grease the hinge which should be visible via the boot and the lock. i hope i provided some help. :)

The only thing a Dealer will do is replace the entire seat belt so I suggest you unbolt it and buy a new one then Fit it yourself

BATTERY OR ALT

It's located in the wheel well, and is supposed to take 30 min to replace. I remember the good old days, when you could pop the hood and find the battery immediately. Now they are even putting them under the rear seat and in the trunk. YIKES!

Just Pull the straps that lie in between the seats. Not the seat belts but there are two straps. Pull them, pull the seat up from toward the seat back, pull out the headrests and lower the seat back. The seat cushion should/ bench seat should lie up against thge two front seats.

Toyota sienna 2004 rear seats

I have had a similar problem on my 2004 Siena 2 times - strap you pull to release the seat has no tension. Dealer fixed under war both times (I watched the second time). If your problem is the same, the cable that controls the release may not be in position. As I recall, you remove about six screws, remove the plastic housing, find the cable and reset then test the release.
