Will your engine overheat ? This sounds normal, there is an override that turns the fan on when the ac is turned on. Without the ac on it should stay off until the engine reaches a set temprature.

Hi there, this is your sender unit that teh wires connect to on the radiator. Basically when the radiator heats up to approx 95 degrees Celcius the sender unit makes a contact that creates a circuit to drive the fan. If this is malfunctioning the circuit will not be made and the fan will not run.

hope this helps

I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit 2.5L SOHC. Currently, the engine overheats. When you turn on the A/C, the fan turns on, but when you turn off the A/C, the fan turns off. I've let it get 3/4 of the way to the...

This is a good one.
When you unplug the sensor the fan comes on. From what I under stand of this system is when you unplug the sensor your are sending the ECM into a over ride mode, same as your AC.
So it tells me your fan relay is good! There has to be a problem with the wiring of the sensor or The ECM has the problem. Best advice I can give you is to have the ecm tested

Need manual to concord

The fan gets it's signal from the engine temp sensor, located near the
thermostat housing. There are also 2 relays for the fan hi + lo located
on the fan shroud(2.7 eng.) and for the 3.5 eng. in the fuse/relay block
near the radiator expansion tank. Hope this helps.

What can cause water to get very hot and be pushed out into the the coolant reservoir in a 1993 Toyota Camry LE v6?

Several things ... best guess, in order:
1. (very likely) Radiator fan is not blowing (turn on car and a/conditioner. When compressor kicks in, the radiator fan must blow). If it ims not blowing, the radiator fan motor may be burned out ($40).
2. Check / replace "cooling fan" fuse ($1) and / or "cooling fan" relay switch ($7).
3. Could be (not likely) thermostat sticking shut. Replace thermostat ($20)
4. Could be radiator hose collapse (not very likely) ($18)
5. Radiator clog or hose leak (possible)
6. Head gasket broken (not likely unless you don't fix current problem) ($150)

The more detail of the symptoms, the better we can assist you.

Hope this helps!

The cooling fan circuit is composed of basically 3 components. The fan, fan relay, and a cooling fan switch. If you are sure the relay and fan are ok, it is probably the switch. It is located on the top of the engine block very near the upper radiator hose connector, close to the thermostat housing. A car parts store can tell you where it is located. NOTE: There is more than 1. If you have a temp. guage, there is a sender that operates the guage. Also, there is 1 that sends information to the computer. So, make sure you ask for the cooling fan switch when you talk to the parts store people.

The radiator fan on my 1992 Geo Prizm will not come on. I have tested the fan motor via a wire by pass and confirmed the motor is good. I have also replaced the relay and still the fan will not come on....

pull the cooling switch/sensor Usually the one next to or on thermostat housing. I do believe it a 2 wire. the 1 wire is for your guage. I think you can short it and see if it comes on. take a wire and plug into each other creating a complete circuit. if it comes on then replace the sensor which I think is your issue anyways.
