If your compressor is still some good then it the knob on the in side of your truck that controls it. That whole controls system is 600.00 the most. But you could do a direct switch from your compressor so you can keep you kidneys for 30.00 or 40.00 dollars that's parts and labor.

I have the exact same problem on our Jimmy. apparently it is the a/c compressor - which in my case is leaking. If you can get $1000 for some other body part, you won't have to sell your kidney.

Have the a/c recharged first to make sure the system is full if the compresser will not come on jump the wires on to low pressure switch located on the dryer if the a/c works after that replace rhat switch

Take to repair shop & tell them
what you would like to have working

Keep in mind they don't make or sell R12
Refrigerant in almost 20 years,so you may
have to go without A/C

My 2000 Jimmy only blows hot air out of the vents. I recharged the AC unit but stills blows warm air. The compressor works turns on and off so I dont know what the problem is ??

Aircon systems have a control valve or reversing valve which sticks due to non use.Just where that valve is on the Jimmy I am not to sure, but hope this points you in the right direction.

We just bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy and the heater doesn't work. The fan blows but there is no heat. The air conditioner works fine.

Could be that the heater core is disconnected, there are two hoses that attach to the heather core that come out of the engine, this provides hot water to the core thus making the heater work, when the heater core starts leaking water the quick and fast fix would be to bypass the heater core and connect the two hoses together, check under the hood on the left passenger side there should be two hoses about 1" thick see if there are connected together or of they seem to be connected to 2 outlets that come out of the inside of the vehicle. people do that specially if selling vehicle.

check to see if ac compressor is turning ,if so look to see if cooling fan/fans are working if not check fuses, and cooling fan relays/if ac is turning and cooling fan/fans are working ,need to put gauges on ac system and check pressures ,if normal ,and ac low side pipe/lines/hoses are cols then it is ur actuator motor for the temp door that is not working
