It is mounted to the radiator support on the front bumper side, When the bumper is removed it is the little 3" circle with the plug and a single bolt holding it in place.
I just did this. Remove the fender liner Remove the mud guard
There are several 6mm flange bolts with 10mm heads. 3 along the inside of the hood 1 behind the top of the door accessible with the door open 2 on the bottom of the door behind the mud guard 2 behind the bumper cover, the headlight is attached to one of these. There is a screw holding the end of the bumper to the fender. Remove it and pull the cover away from the fender. There is a large plastic clip inserted into the fender next to the two bolts that holds the bumper
cover but should release when you pull the cover.
The headlight has two dowel pins that insert into the fender, removing the headlight may be better but you have to remove the bumper to get to some of the headlight assembly bolts. There are 4 bolts holding on the bumper that are accessible through the turn signal holes. The bumper will "fall" about an inch and sit on some collar bolts so it can be lifted off without one side falling (a neat feature). The turn signal is held by one Phillips screw accessible through a special hole on the inboard side of the bumper with your longest Phillips screwdriver.
remove plastic rivets and bolts holding bumper within fender well, between lights near hood latch, and bottom of bumber, be careful taking bumper off to prevent cracking. exact opposite for installing bumper
First you need a flathead screwdriver and the socket wrench set.
Pop open the hood and where the grill of the car is should be 4 black
clips and you use the flathead screwdriver to take that off. Find the
mm sockets that fit on the screws directly above your headlights, one
on each side. After that's been taken out, there is one screw on the
end of the bumper near the doors. You'd have to get a smaller mm socket
to get those out, one on each side. On the bottom are a few more clips
and two more screws. Using the same mm sockets that took of the screws
above the headlights, take off the screws on the bottom of bumper.
you got the right idea.the hatch is easy. the bumpers are a pain only because the hardware rusts. use something like PB Blaster to help loosen them up. Good luck, and don't forget the rating.
1. open your hood and unscrew 3 screws ( some have plastic catchers).
2. there is another bolt above your front tyre, you have to unbolt that..(right above the tire, by your mudguard or whatever they call that plastic piece to stop mud or water to get in contact with wires on the door.)
3. same on the other size...
4. you are good to go then...good luck..
