Question about Dodge Sprinter
At 10k service for '07 2500 sprinter diesel dealer changed oil and also performed an emissions recall that required some form of reprogramming the computer. two days later HI oil warning on dash came on while driving on freeway. dealer said bring it in immediately and they would drain out some oil. dealer said they removed 0.5 qt. since then power level is ok but engine makes a whine sound on decelleration. could this be related to either the oil level overfill issue or emissions reprogramming?
The reprogramming preformed is due to a fault in the EGR valve causing faulty actuation. The actuation of the valve prevents soot acumulation in the valve. excessive soot build up could cause the valve to stick. the reprogramming preformed is to prevent this... as for the whine.. I dont think this would be a result of the reprogram.. best of luck

Maybe related to the programming, ask you dealer.
