Question about 2000 GMC New Sierra 1500
My gear shift is stuck in reverse and of course will not crank. It is 1998 gmc sierra. What should I do to get my gears back shifting?
Check your transmission. Look underneath the truck and see if you see moisture around the transmission pan. If you see any indication of that, you may have a huge issue on your hands. Your reverse gear is seized to the Drive Gear. However hopefully it's something like needing a new clutch or a clutch adjustment

Check the linkage first. I have had the linkage come loose before. If it isn't the linkage you need a good transmisson man.
