SOURCE: Changing rear breaks

Try tapping around the rotor hat (the area that actually fits over the hub, where the lug bolt holes are) with a hammer. That usually will loosen up a rotor that's stuck due to heat, dust, etc. As for compressing the rear piston, they're a screw-in design, not a compression design like the front calipers. You need a piston retracting set (you can borrow them from AutoZone), and with that you can screw the pistons into the calipers. After removing the reservoir cap underhood, screw them all the way in so that you have ample clearance for the new pads over the new rotors, then pump the brakes a few times before you hit the road (put the reservoir cap back on first).

SOURCE: a4 convertible drivers seat.

I have had the exact same problem , the actaual cause of the seat not sliding back is due to the small cable retaing clip which fastens at the underneath of the seat this is a very common problem and is very trickY to get to as you say the rear panel appers to need to come off , it does not, you axs the small clip from removeing the liners at the very bottom of the seat where there is a footwell light , when you axs this area you be able to get to the clip or the actaul cable ,to which ever is broken,,

SOURCE: cant open the latch to

What year and model is your car? Can you hear the gas door trying to release when you pull the lever or push the switch? A lot of cars have a manual release inside the trunk. Open up the trunk and pull back the carpet on the side of the fuel door to see if there's a release. It's usually just a cable with a little plastic handle. If you don't have one of these, you can get a really small screwdriver, put it in the fuel door and give it slight outward pressure while someone else is trying to release it from inside the car. When you do this, wrap a rag around the screwdriver to prevent damage to the paint.

Good Luck!

How does a manual top work on a 1998 BMW 323 I??

I believe you do this in this order. Roll windows down, release the latch at the top of the windshield, raise the front of the top, release rear cover by pulling the latch near the rear seat, Pull up the back of the top and then pull up on the rear cover. The back of the top should now fit into the opening under the rear cover. Continue to fold the top into this space. Push down on the rear cover to lock (won't be able to open trunk if not engaged.) To raise it, release rear latch cover, open rear cover and pull top out of opening. Raise rear of top so you are able to now close the rear cover, set rear of top down on cover and then pull fron of top down and engage the fraont latch. Hoe that helps.

2006 buick lucerne back doors won't open

My friend just had this problem and he reached in and pulled the inside door handle back as far as it would go, and then let it go, allowing it to 'snap' back. For some reason this fixed it. We have no idea why. By doing this on one door, both rear door locks freed up and the rear locks are now working. Before, both rear locks were stuck and you could not open the doors from the inside nor the outside. Not sure why it works, but maybe it will work for you!

My trunk latch won't open and I want to know how to access my trunk from the back seat.

Your trunk latch is coupled with the rear door lock, push the door lock down then lift it up, do not use the auto lock/unlock. It should release the trunk lock, I had the same problem.

2003 Volkswagen Passat Center Rear Belt Locked

The fix is:
  • remove the seat bench,
  • unscrew the bolt attaching the seat belt to the body,
  • return the seat back to its upright position and make sure it latches
  • reattach the seat belt
  • replace the seat bench
To prevent this from happening again:
  • Leave the seat belt latch in its receiver when not in use.

My rear folding seats wont fold down to allow me access to my trunk. i know they lock, but my owners manual is locked in the trunk and i do not know how to unlock the folding seats.

When you open the trunk, there should be a knob at the top right of the opening. Pull that and it will unlock the locking mechanism for the rear seats. I just recently figured that one out myself!

Stuck rear seat

Ok, I had similar problem on my Chevy Venture.
Step one: Lower the Back part of the seat down.
Step 2: Get a BIG flat head screw driver
Step 3: Use the screw driver to push down the Lever in the back of the Seat to unlatch the rear hooks. - You won't be able to do it by hand, not enough strength can be applied to get that rear lever to move.

Then, when you put it back in, make suure the front latches are open prior to putting the seats back in again. If they are locked, you have to open them (using the same screw driver) otherwise, you will have the same issue again.

GM Seat system for the vans sucks a$$. I've seen this problem too many times.
