What if the 2000 dodge caravan break light comes on

If the BRAKE light comes on, and the parking brake is not engaged, it indicates a potentially very dangerous condition, where hydraulic pressure is lost in the system. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE IF THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES, EVEN "ONCE IN AWHILE," WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL.

IT IS ALSO NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IF THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES WITH THE PARKING BRAKE DISENGAGED.

The cause for the issue may be:
  1. Bad master cylinder (most likely);
  2. Contaminated brake fluid (if the wrong kind of fluid was used);
  3. Bad wheel cylinder(s);
  4. Damaged brake line;
  5. Excessive wear on brake parts (such as pads and rotors);
  6. Defective brake pressure sensor.

I have a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan and my cruise control does come on, but with it a brake indicator light comes on as well. Why would this be?

Check to ensure your rear brake lights are working. If there is a fault in the brake light switch at the pedal then this is also what cuts out the cruise control. If you have no rear brake lights then replace the switch.

My brake lights will not function on my 2000 grand caravan.All of the bulbs are new my rear lights work my reverse lights work but my brake lights will not

The bulbs could still be the problem since they are double filament bulbs.If your high brake light work but not the low ones the replace the bulbs.If none in the rear work then you may need a brake light switch(on the brake pedal linkage).If this is not the case the check for power to the brake light side of the bulb and repair the broken brake light wire.

I do not have the solution for you but I will make a suggestion if you do not get an answer from someone else. Find a 2000 Dodge Caravan like yours at a used car lot and pop the hood and take a look. That may be your quickest solution.

1994 Dodge Caravan rear brakes won't wear out.

Yes, this is very normal. You'll replace the front 3 times before you'll have to replace the rears. The reason for this is because 80% of your braking is in the front. There is nothing wrong with your brake system.
