1996 lincoln towncar. No a/c compressor engagement unless jumped

1996 lincoln towncar. Replaced both the a/c pressure switch and the compressor cycling switch. Compressor operates when jumped from battery and blows cold. Blower works fine when not jumped. No compressor engagement unless jumped. Checked low side pressure with compressor jumped, about 50 psi. Swapped fuel pump relay with a/c cut out relay, car still ran (fuel pump operational with a/c relay installed) no compressor engagement though?

I believe the solution suggested runs the compressor constsntly when the a/c is on. The compressor needs to cycle on and off to prevent system damage. Any other suggestions?

The control unit is no good.i had a similar situation with a 98 tracker, and installed a switch to give it a ground for the compressor relay that comes from the a/c computer module.
it works good and goes on and off with the a/c switch.

2005 linclon towncar - why will the ac clutch not engage

check the pressures in the system, if they are low it will not engage, it could be a bad connection for the compressor, check the compressor clutch air gap and clutch condition as this can cause a problem.

A/c Compressor clutch issues (electrical)

Assuming you have the system adequately pressurized with gas, check out the low pressure cut off switch. If it is in the open position no current will reach the clutch windings and the compressor will not operate.

I have a 02 lincoln ls . the air conditiong is not working . i took it to a local shop they check the compressor, fuses, relays, pressure swithches, all is checcking out good. They jump the compressor...

YOU COULD HAVE OPEN OR SHORT IN THE BLACK YELLOW WIRE GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN IN RED YELLOW WIRES AT THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH. USE VOLT METER AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT BOTH SWITCHES. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE EATC MODULE THAT SEND POWER TO PURPLE WIRE THAT FEEDS THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH AND AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH THEN FEEDS THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SOLENOID.

ok near the fire wall you have your dryer on the dryer is a two wire switch for your low pressure. Jump that wire if your compressor comes on then the switch is bad. this is a common problem on these cars

1989 Lincoln Towncar, Compressor Clutch will not engage

Make sure there is sufficient gas.

If there is gas in the system but it is not full enough the pressure switch will detect this and prevent the pump from engaging to prevent damage to the compressor.

1996 Lincoln Town Car. The A/C compressor will not engage. Freon is not an issue because I have by-passed the low pressure cycle switch. The control in the car is on "max ac". I have also replaced the A/C...

Is the solenoid clutch holding on to engage the compressor, if not the relay or the fuse or the sitch is not active. check the connection to the relay.
If solenoid is turning the compressor then there is no pumping and so the cooling does not happen. It can be failure within the compressor, needs an overhauling .

A/c compressor engages intermittently

Check the connections on the plug going to the compressor clutch and on the pressure switch on the low side. Also check the gap on the clutch. It may be too wide after where to engage correctly. Good luck.

1996 Buick LeSabre AC Stopped Working

The first thing to check is if there is enough gas. The compressor will not work when the gas is low. There is a small inspection glass on the line. This needs to be clear. If you see streaks or bubbles means the gas is low. Never mind the pressure or wiring for now, Add one can of gas and this should get that first part done.

1996 cadilac air conditioner problem

Try unhooking the battery. When caddies see they are low on freon or have a bad pressure switch, they set a code and lock out the compressor function. Unhooking the battery for a minute should reset this.
