The cap has 4 wires on it and there is a sequence called a firing order.example 1342. get a haynes manual and it will tell you which plug is which cylinder, and which is #1 on the cap. then you follow the firing order in the specified rotation, and it should run if it was running before.

P1121 means that the TP (throttle position sensor) does not match what the MAF (mass air flow sensor) reads

the two leading causes for this are the TP or the PCM (powertrain control module)

you will need a professional scan tool to diagnose in detail

What are the wires under the vaccum hose on the passenger side of a 1990 honda accord for? i had accidently drilled into them while the car was running and now my car wont start i think its the fuel pump...

what kind of wire? what color and where it come from and where is it lead to?
on the passenger's side, there is a bundle that lead to the fire wall and it connected to the engine computer.
if you drill into that bundle then you need to pull it out and repair what ever broke. just match the colors of the wires with a **** connector

2 spark plugs not firing

check to see if your plugs need changing and then check your HT/LT leads on the plugs as they may be loose or water clogged somewhere or have a split wire that is just touching enabling it to fire a few times

Key will not start the car, but bypass will start. why that ?

If your car has the Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS) the key has a resistor in it (some call it a chip) The key reader wears over time and all GM cars from the 90s with VATS sooner or later have this problem. The cures are 1) replace the ignition and key (expensive) 2) Have a VATS bypass installed (a little less expensive) or if you are a 'do-it-yourself' person you can read the resistance in the key and find the 2 wires leading from the key reader and clip them (bypassing the reader) and wire in the matching resistance with resistor(s) from radio shack. My 1997 Riviera cost me about 2 hours and $2.50 to fix. Just make sure to pull the battery ground cable and don't cut into the yellow wire as that's the airbag!

Changed heads due h/gasket ,tried to start engine however started but bad misfiring shaking etc checked leads now what ?

Hello; Sounds like firing order is incorrect. Recheck plug wires for proper cylinder match. The firing order is usually casted on the intake manifold.. Let me know, ok?
Six cylinders :153624
v-8 18436572,- 1546278 etc.

Set your engine to TDC. Now your rotor arm should be pointing to the No1 cylinder. Your firing order should be 1-3-4-2. Get someone to spin the engine for you so you can see which way the rotor arm moves and put the leads on in the order of rotation. Starting at the rotor set at TDC, put that lead on the plug in No1 cylinder. The next one should go on No3 plug then 4 then 2.
