Question about 2006 Suzuki Forenza

1 Answer

I think mines doing it too

I have a 2006 Forenza too. The day running lights work fine but the headlight switch won't turn on the main headlights and the dayrunning lights indicator is on regardless of the position of the switch. The highbeams still work though you can't push the lever forwards; to turn them on you must pull them back towards you (flashing mode). Since the indicator is still on in the headlight position, I dread it's an electrical problem. So just to sum it up, the dayrunning lights work but when you twist the headlight switch, nothing changes and the dayrunning light indicator is still on. Does this sound similar to what you've experienced? If you've found the solution since your post or anyone has any advice please let me know.

1998 Lumina lights don't work at night! The lights work during the day but not at night. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Theres a sensor in the middle of the dash by the front windshield that detects sunlight and triggers the automatic headlights. The main headlights and daytime running lights might be on a different circuit, in which case they daytime running lamps would turn off at night and the main headlights would turn on, indicating the main headlights arent working and the daytime running lamps are working as intended.

I would check all the fuses related to headlights, check the bulbs and check the switch, then last the light sensor on the dash.

My 2000 Toyota Corolla headlights will not turn on during the night, and stay on during the day

Your Corolla has daytime running lights (DRLs). A photocell determines whether it is day or night. Your DRLs turn on automatically in daytime without you operating the light control ("headlight") switch. Your DRLs are actually your headlights on low beam. At night, the photocell senses it is dark and disables the DRLs. When you set the light control ("headlight") switch to HEAD, the head relay closes and the headlights should turn on. Since they don't, I suggest opening the engine room junction block and checking the 40A MAIN fuse and the 10A LEFT HEAD (UPPER) and RIGHT HEAD (UPPER) fuses. In engine room relay block 5, check the 10A LH-LWR HEAD and RH-LWR HEAD fuses. Replace any blown fuses and the headlights should be working normally again

Headlights go off at night cannot get them to go onat night often will work during day

I would pull the main headlight switch out and check it for burning, that is the most common issue for this type of problem with the headlights coming and going.

The Module for the DRL is most likely bad, the DRL Module is squarish in shape and Black in color and would be located in the fuse area or in the engine compartment. Just pull it straight out and purchase another one and re-install. Buying new low-beam lights will not solve the problem, because if your low-beams work when you turn on your headlights than it is not your bulbs. The DRL Module uses your low beam lights, but at a lower intensity than when it is normally on, so if your low beams work when you turn on the headlight switch than your DRL Module is bad.

Head lights won't work. drl and high beams work

Check for sure, that both bulbs haven't somehow (unlikely, I know) blown out. If they are both fine, it could be the headlight switch. Another possibility, there was a recall recently for the headlights due to the splices not staying together, causing the regular headlights to not function. This recall affected over 90,0000 Suzukis of different model years. Hope this helps, sorry I couldn't give you anything concrete

Headlight problem suzuki forenza 2005 low beam headlight and day running lights no working fuses and relay are ok.

You probably need a new combination switch, located in the steering column, integrated into the control lever for lights. Remove airbag (if you have one) and then pull off steering wheel to access switches. We bought ours at you-pull junkyard, but I believe AutoZone also carries them for far less than dealer price.
