Question about 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Driver's side window does not work

My driver's side window is now stuck half way up. Two yrs ago, I had a problem with it making a clanking noise. I took it to the garage to have it fixed, saying there is something wrong with this window , it shouldn't do this. They said it was only a loose screw and tighted it.
Now that it's out of warrenty, it happened again, but this time they said something is broken inside the door and it will cost over $200 to fix.
Again, I said there was a problem before the warrenty was up, but even after calling GM warrenty , they basically said too bad, but they will not cover the repair.
I have not returned.

To fix the problem to these steps. 1 check the fuse and relay that control the power window. check if the switch is working by turning on the dome light, depress the switch, if the light dims then the switch is working, check the motor by removing the door cover and jump it by adding 12v directly to the motor. last check the window grove, make sure its free from debris

I purchased a 98 chevy lumina sedan about 6 yrs ago. at that time, the driver's side power window would only go down about half way, at the half way mark, it would continue to "try" to go...

The widow regulator is bad. I believe yours is set up on a gear system. there is a long band that is plastic, of course that will lose teeth. The reason it stops. These are not hard to replace. remove the door panel. You will see the regulator and the track. You will need some tools and a drill to remove rivets. The track will pull out, then slide the new one in. you may have to remove the window to do this. Shop rate is 1 hour + materials.

2004 Pontiac Grand AM SE Makes a clanking noise when I turn to the left. It also makes a loud hum and clanking when a cross wind comes from the drivers side of the car. Any thoughts?

You may have a worn out CV joint and a bad wheel hub. Have them both inspected and replace any worn parts. A bad CV joint will cause your to be stranded out some where is it fails and a bad wheel hub will cause your wheel to fly off it it fails. best place to have the work done would be a transmission shop, since there always working on drive line components. Good luck and call around for the best price.

Driver side a clanking noise especially when i go over bumps and when in reverse...just did pads and roters about 2 weeks ago...any ideas?

I would start with sway bar links because they do make clanking noises when worn. plus they are usually cheaper than a strut or a cv shaft...

CV joints yes look at the rubber boots for damage. You can get a replacement boot but if you do remove all the old grease to remove any dirt that is cousing your problem.

Driver Side Window won't work- Chevy Blazer 2003

If it does not make any noise, or sound like its getting any power, most likely its the switch.
