Question about 2006 Hyundai Sonata

My 2006 Sonata brake lights won't work and neither does the rear window brake light our son wasfollowing us when he noticed them not working we have stopped for a break and they were working up to this point

You may want to check, I think there is a recall on the brake switch system that may cause this problem. i have a 2006 Sonota and I believe I saw a recall on line.

Either all the brake lamp bulbs are burned out... OR, it's the brake switch.. OR, a fuse.

Rear break light will not go on but rear window break light will


could be the light itself,the red brake wire that comes off the rear brake lights that feeds this stop light,sometimes things get shoved against this wire and its cut,or if it splits off in the frame,it could also be broken here too

the carpet cover comes off the rear deck in the back windo then you will find the screws that hold it down

2006 Sonata brake lights don't work except rear deck light.


Check the connection at the brake light switch for power comming out to the barke lights,try feeding power to the brake lights manualy using a jumper wire from your fuse box or battery,unplug the wire from the switch and put power to the harness if everything is OK the brake lights will work,then you need a new switch.

Try putting on your flashers,and see if they come on.
Sounds like a loose groung wire usually green.They need to contact bare metal.lots of times they just need retighting.

the bulbs are a dual philament eventhough the tail lights work the brake light part of the bulb is burnt out
