Question about 2006 Chevrolet HHR

2006 HHR randomly does not start

2006 HHR randomly does not start. Does not turn over. Then, if you let it sit for an hour or so and go back to start it - it starts right up. We have had it towed in and checked out by three different autoshops and no one can figure it out. It leaves us stranded and can never trust it. Otherwise, no problems with the car. Can't figure out why it starts sometimes and sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't if you let it sit - and come back later it starts right up????? Frustrating!

Thermostat or a sensor in the car could be bad. You also want to check with the dealership to make sure there are no recalls for this model and year. I will try to send you more info when Alldatapro.com's website comes back online.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

You need to have the system scanned for fault codes, this is not the same scan as for engine codes, the scanner is higher end model than that. There will be a fault code(s)

2006 HHR LT remote start and power steering not working

I recently saw on the news that some models were being recalled for a faulty ignition switch. (Where the key goes.) It happens for no apparent reason and kills the engine and locks the steering wheel. They said only 1 accident has occurred but imagine it happening at 60 miles per hour. You should call and see if your model is one of the bad ones.

They DO NOT have a power steering pump. This type of vehicle has an electric motor under the steering column that controls steering.

2006 Chevrolet HHR LT Problem

After searching around, I found several posts that suggested reseating all the relays and fuses under the hood. After checking, I noticed nearly all of them were not seated well. I pushed them all down and I haven't had the problem since.
