I have a talon 32cc blower vac which will not start. Have replaced spark plug. Could the problem be the ign coil?

Check that the contact in the carburettor is open circuit when you're trying to start it. The way the ignition is killed on pull start lawn mowers is by the throttle linkage creating a dead short to the coil (grounding the circuit to the body of the mower). Also check that the spark plug lead isn't damaged, the spark plug is in serviceable condition, the coil wiring is undamaged and connected and the coil pick up itself is mounted firmly. A similar question was posted approx 5 years ago with no response - this could possibly be a manufacturing fault with this brand of equipment.

Check that the wiring harness to the coils is getting 12v, this will confirm if the pcm is sending a signal for the sparks to fire. Check the ignition coil is sending spark to the plugs with a spark plug tester.

I would try making sure spark plug wires are put on in the correct firing order. This is a common mistake in tune ups. Most intake manifolds have the firinging order cast in. Plug gaps correct? I cant come too far away.

Are you getting no spark from all the coil outputs?
If so, then replace the coil.

if you mean your getting spark to coil but not at plug your coil is either faulty or your plug wire is faulty

most likely the ign switch is ok if you are getting spark. so you have a hot spark at coil and weak fire at plugs? if you have a test light check the positive side of coil for power when turning key on and cranking. if it is dropping power on positive side then ign switch could be bad. can "hotwire" coil by jumping a wire to positive side of coil to pos of battery this will eliminate ign switch.

where is the crank sesnro loctaed at?

check for power to the ign module

install the new rotor, if that isn't it check the crankshaft position sensor.

ign(2 pin plug),blk(-),blu(+)
