Question about Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

Im in Mesa AZ. Too many garages out there to choose from and not too many 'word of mouth' recommendations for basic oil changes and repairs on a 88 camaro without being ripped off or excessively charged for problems they cant figure out. Any listings or suggestions?

Finding a good garage is necessary for all car owners. Ask around for recommendations. You may be surprised to find it is a Midas shop or something unusual like that. They, and other shops that you only think do oil changes can do repair work.
Your problem may be that the car has gone a certain amount of miles, and wants something checked. Then the mechanic pushes a little button somewhere to reset the gizmo, and all is well.
Few people are familiar with Peugeots, so don't be surprised if it takes some time to find one who is. Mention that is is a Peugeot.

I have the same car, and I had to change the crankshaft and oil pump. while doing so, the 3piece timing set had to be replaced and the gaskets for the timing set, oil pump and water pump had to be replaced....along with the oil filter and oil. it's basically rebuilding the bottom of the engine.

What problems could i get with 79k jaguar s-type 4.0l im trying to buy this car but i doknow if this car is conplicated an any way.

if there is a full service history then you should get no real problems, no service history then walk away.
Plugs should have been changed, coils changed, oil etc, take for a test drive , accelerate hard then brake hard, engine should settle to a nice idle, any stuttering or stalling indicate problems, check the brakes don't pull to one side, check the disc's especially the rears, to thin or cracked means no good. basically check all the things as for any car. diy repairs are possible but sometimes easier to take to a garage. log onto a Jaguar forum such as JAGUAR FORUM .COM

The oil repair light came on the other day and Im assuming it has to do with the oil pump going the pump located in the engine? and how much would it cost to repair?

Oil repair light? Maybe you need to add oil or the oil level censor is bad or it's time to change your oil. If it is your oil pump it is in the engine most times you have to remove the engine to replace it your looking at spending 500-800 to fix depending on the garage you take it to.

2000 Hundai elantra air conditioner blowa cold air all the time

Well Doug in Mesa AZ, sounds like you've got a AC control module malfunction. Tell you what, if you want to troubleshoot it yourself, Go to and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.
If you don't want to fix it yourself, Take your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.
