1994 cherokee wont go into reverse and 5th gear

Which engine, we cant guess them ever here, blind
and the trans matches engine, power.
so....
is it an auto matic? or stick ax-5?? or NV3550?
or the 30RH auto
the AW-4 auto.?????????????? matter big time which it is......

its its a manual stick trans, then now is the time to say, no?
as all cherokee's have them as an option.
mine did in 1988 (2) and one 1999 xj
if the manual will not shift.
there are only 3 causes.
1: shift linkage probs (visual it yet?)
2: clutch bad (if it drags any gear can be hard to shift)
is the clutch fluid dropping????????????????????
3: box bad, or dry of gear lube,. is it full, and not like TAR?

next time know whats under the hood an say for 10x better answers. for sure.
