Question about 2005 Lincoln Town Car
You may have to check the speedometer cable that connects to the transmission through the car's wall and to the back of the dashboard. Check the cable if it has become loose or broken. Also check if it is making contacts at the back. Some types of digital speedometers still count the number of turns that this cable makes and computes for the speed. The cruise control would work properly if your speedometer works. If the cable check out ok, check the wiring or blown or burnt component on the dashboards' main board.
Usually it is just the cable problem.
