There will be two bolts thru the window but will only be visible at one level of the window. Go up and down till you see it. Disconnect and remove said window. It will come out. Some of these reulator are riveted in. Good luck.

I have a 2002 ford Taurus & the drivers side

There is no way to ever know what a vehicle
repair would cost & only a fool would quote
a price without first diagnosing the issues AFTER
they have things apart
The last shop let you down
Most window problems are a broken window regulator
Could be the switch was worn & was replaced, the relay
if there even is one & windows seldom have a relay, they just
have a circuit breaker for the motor.
The regulator was going & they failed to remove the door panel
to check it

How to take apart the straight six without destroying anything

4.0 L engine is likely the last easy engine to work on. Get a haynes or chilton manual and follow the directions. In order not to destroy anything, that lies with you. Use care, don't force anything and use the proper tools.
As far as "taking apart" , some items such as the crankshaft are not removable without taking the engine out. A carefully torn down engine should need no more than replacement of worn or damaged parts and a gasket set (plus machine work where necessary)
Any questions about a specific component can easily be answered by anyone here.

I replaced the driver's side window motor because

I don't know everything there is to know about window motors, but I have seen this before, both mine went out at the same time, not together but a couple weeks apart, like they were dated. Anyway, I replaced both motors, then both operators. Now they both work fine. I would hang on to the old motor, you never know, it might be good, You might have a bad switch on the door, I had to take my switches apart on my other truck and clean the contacts, got both motors working again, Hope this helps.

Do they make a Split cv boot for a 99 ford f-150? I need to replace one on the drivers side. It appears to ba a major repair to take all that off to just replace the boot.

Removing/Replacing the cv shaft is not as much work as it looks.
Take the wheel off, take the axle nut (36 mm) off, undo the lower ball joint (21 mm) and then undo the 6 bolts on the inboard side of the shaft (12 mm 12 point bolts) and then pull down on the inboard end of the shaft. (it may be necessary to hit the end of the bolt with a hammer) remove the splined end from the wheel hub and remove from vehicle (it is possible if a bit tricky to get the shaft out without taking anything else apart, just don't give up too easily. It is often easier and cheaper to just buy a refurbed CV shaft than it is to replace a torn boot by itself. A new boot from the dealer is over $150, a remaned shaft from Pepboys is about $75.

Driver's window won't roll up all the way

If you have power windows it should be a broken cable, If its manual then it should be the crank asm. or the white plastic trac, it may torn at the end.

Check inside wiring by the driver's side door hinge. Remove the rubber boot and you will find broken wires. Make a splice and you are fixed!

You just drop it down from the top at a slight angle. Then put the bolts back in and check to make sure that it moves freely.
