No i was told the battery is good but they couldn't tell me if the alternator was good but i did have it repalced but this hasn't resolved the issue. The battery isn't staying charges within 2 days after a full charge it drops down to about 11.3 volts. The battery light on the dashboard will not go off.

This symptom is asociated with the lights relay or the light switch.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MINE. AFTER $400 I REALIZED IT WAS THE FUSE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS BROKEN AND WOULD COME LOOSE AT ANY SLIGHT BUMP, THEN IMMEDIATELY KILL THE BATTERY. FIRST THE RADIO WENT OUT THEN THE DASH LIGHTS. ANYWAY I GOT A NEW ONE FOR $40 AND PROBLEM SOLVED. =]

SOURCE: my car have a good

if the battery is good and the alternator is charging then you have a battery drain which is taking power while its not running to find this out you nead a multimeter at can tire you can buy one for under 20 dollars now on the meter you have a 10 amp plug on the positive and a ground plug use these two plugs and the mult meter switch to 10 amp dc i think there is only one position on the whole meter its not like ohms or volts etc now unplug the ground cable on car bat the black wire from battery install the multimeter between the battery and the cable if the meter shows .03 amps its ok there is no drain but if its over .o3 then you have to find where its drawing power its a long process but you will find it by taking out fuse by fuse example with the meter plugged open drivers door the meter should go to .55 which is high and make sure all the lights are off keys out of ignition and so on

SOURCE: Have New battery and Alternator,

Since you are having a new battery and alternator the charging circuit of the electronic charging unit is a possible suspect.
All what is required is to check the charging voltage when the engine is started, if there is no increment of voltage when the engine runs the alternator then the connection from the alternator must be checked. Check the output from alternator, check the relay box which contains the charging unit. It can be a failure of the rectification or the stabilising circuit, the unit must be replaced.

There is obviously have a drain on the battery. You have a faulty break light pedal switch causing the lights to stay on, or your turn signal switch is bad. your brake lights run through, the turn signal switch too. That could also cause the problem.

Check your manual for what the battery light indicates. It is just a general light for the electrical....not always the battery.

The battery is run down too low. When the light came on, alternator stopped working- the vehicle ran off the battery, until the lights and other electricals ran the battery down too low.
Recharge the battery, and have the alternator tested. It will probably need replacing. If you bring it into a parts store, they will test it for free.

You need to get a digtal voltage meter (about $15) and check it out yourself-readings at the battery should be 12.5 volts after sitting overnight. Once you start it, the readings at the battery terminals should go up to almost 15 volts when first started, then gradually drop down to around 14.2 volts-I would bet either your battery is bad, or your battery is bad and your alternator has failed trying to supply power to a bad battery-either way, your mechanic should not have allowed the battery light to stay on after changing out the alternator without finding out what was wrong-he did not fix it.

Why does my battery keep going dead I have relaced it 3 times a new alternator if the car sits for 2 days or more and is not started and ran the battery is completely dead

BATTERY DRAINS ARE TRICKY. TURN OFF ALL SWITCHES, CLOSE GLOVE BOX. MAKE SURE GLOVE BOX LIGHT IS OUT. OPEN THE HOOD. DISABLE THE UNDER HOOD LIGHT. CLOSE ALL THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL COURTESY LIGHTS ARE OUT. DISCONNECT NEG. BATTERY CABLE. USE 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, CONNECT ONE END TO A METAL PIECE ON THE MOTOR FOR GROUND. FASTEN THE OTHER END TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, THAT MEANS THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. LIGHT NOT ON, NO DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, FIND THE POWER BOX NEAR THE BATTERY. PULL OUT ONE FUSE, IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON PUT HE FUSE BACK, PULL OUT THE NEXT FUSE. IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON PUT THE FUSE BACK . REPEAT THIS UNTIL THE LIGHT GOES OUT, OR GETS VERY DIM. OUT IS BETTER. WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT, THAT IS THE CIRCUIT THAT IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. REFER TO OWNERS MANUAL TO IDENTIFY THE CIRCUIT. IF THE LIGHT NEVER GOES OUT, REMOVE THE WIRES FROM THE ALTERNATOR. IF THE LIGHT GOES OUT, ALTERNATOR NEEDS REPLACING.

Battery Light staying on

This is probably the carbon brushes in the alternator, that are worn, and thus not functioning correctly.
It is possible, if you find someone with a similar alternator, to just change the brushes at a fraction of the cost of a complete unit.
But it's worth a look, the brushes are located on the back side of the alternator, with two or three screws to remove.
Hope that fixedya.
Don't forget the thumbs up
