I heard a pop and now the drivers side window will not go up or down automatically

The cable broke on the window regulator. Order a new regulator (eBay, about $50.00). You will have to remove the door panel to replace the regulator.

GM cars have a window regulator that is made of a cable and plastic gears. They wear out and windows quit working. The new unit comes with regulator and new motor. This is a common problem on gm cars. These regulators are around $250 each. I would search junk yards, or look on ebay they sell aftermarket for around $80.00

1999 oldsmobile alero power window problems

9 times out of 10 when windows won't roll up or down it is the switch. It is probably just dirty or broke. pop it out of there open it up and check it out. Don't be afraid to do it yourself. if it isn't your switch than try replacing motor/regulator. I am pretty sure it is easiest to get them together. just be careful not to bend the regulator arms!!!!!!

Front(Driver) Window problem 2002 Olds. Alero

If a power window, then it sounds like the window regulator has failed, or on either a power or manual window- the regulator attachments have broke. The window would need to come out and inspect for the failure. ?If just the window attachments, they can be purchased and re-glued onto the glass. If the regulator has failed, the entire assembly needs to be replaced.
