Question about 2007 Chrysler Town & Country LX New Cars
The tear-drop shaped white translucent plastic covers are removable.
Insert a flat tip screwdriver between the inside straight edge of the cover and the console near the oval indentation at the round end of the cover.
Be careful of plastic tab at the round end of the plastic cover.
Gently pry the plastic away and down from the console.
I found that the bulb 578 was the wrong bulb.

The correct bulb number is 579. You cannot just plug it in. On the new bulb straighten the connection wires, insert the bulb in to the holder, with needle nose pliars pull the wires into the metal slots on the side of the bulb holder.

You will have to pry off the lens CAREFULLY using a small screwdriver. There are two (or more) little plastic protrusions on each long side of the lens which fit into the casement. Look for very small slots along the side of the lens to insert the blade of the screwdriver. You can ease the casement away from the lens enough to get it to pop out. Re-inserting it is the same, but probably easier.
Gently, give it a try.
Hope this helps you.

usually you just pop off the cover and replace the bulb. the covers just snap in place. unless there are screws witch you just unscrew.

Pop the cover off from the windshied side the pointy side, with a small trim tool or screwdriver. The seat side has a tab that turns the light on/off. Tab is easy to brake. Blub comes out counterclockwise

Check in Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover... RELAY 1...
Finally, take off the switch and test jumping voltage.

Tips for a great answer:
The liftgate lamps
You can't turn them on manually ?
This could be a BCM problem , this best left to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer .

The liftgate lamps
The courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the body control module (BCM) supplies battery positive voltage to the dome lamp, the liftgate lamps, and the map lamps. When any door is opened, the door jamb switch contacts close providing a door open input to the BCM. The BCM then provides a ground to the interior lamps with the switch in the AUTO position. The interior lamps receive a ground at G401 with the switch in the ON position.
Important: If the liftgate is opened after all the modules go to sleep, the dome light will not come on. The liftgate ajar switch input to the BCM will not wake up the BCM once it has gone to sleep, so the dome light will not come on. Once the BCM gets an input to wake it up, from remote keyless entry (RKE) or a door handle, the dome light will turn on when the liftgate is opened.
If the driver inadvertently leaves any interior lamp ON, the BCM will turn it OFF after a 20 minute time-out.
The courtesy lamps will turn OFF immediately if the ignition switch is turned to the ON position or approximately 20 seconds after all doors are closed.
The courtesy lamps are controlled by the body control module (BCM). Inputs from the dome lamp switch and the door ajar switches are monitored by the BCM. When a door ajar switch is closed, or the dome lamp switch is turned to the ON position, the BCM supplies the B+ for the courtesy lamps.
With out a factory Tech2 scan tool or equivalent an knowing how these systems work ,you best bet is to take your vehicle to the dealer or some other ASE certified repair shop !
