Check the blower motor speed dropping resistor pack and it's connections. It is located in the ducting airflow of the blower motor.

I replaced the blower motor resistor and it only lasted for 2 weeks... Where besides the dealership can I get the wire harness that goes from the blower motor resistor , up to the speed switch??? Any Ideas? Thanks!!! Mike

The heater fan in our 2005 Grand Cherokee will work on all speeds, and then shuts off completely, except on high. All you have to do is bump the dash next to glove compartment, and the fan starts blowing...

See if you can get to the blower motor, and bump it with your hand,if it starts, then the blower motor is bad, replace it,it does sound like this is the problem,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

2005 jeep cherokee, no heat, just blows cold air, thermostat ok

Assuming the water is getting hot, (you could touch the hoses to make sure), then it is the controls, the vacuum the controls use, the vacuum servo that operates the valve, or the valve itself.
It is easiest to start with the last, because you can watch it move from the engine compartment, as someone else turns the temp switch high and low.

The air conditioning in my 2005 jeep grand cherokee is blowing, but it is not as cold as it should be. I have it on high and it is not cold.  The air is cool, but not cold.

You may have a leak in your freon. If you loose pressure in the system, it stops cooling, Have a pressure test done.

One other thing you can check is the fan. If you have the 4.7 your fan is electric. IF it does not come on when you turn on your A/C you may not be getting enough air through the condenser. Start the jeep with the air on and the hood open. See if the fan is on. (do this when the vehicle is cold, so you can tell if it is commanding the fan on because of the A/C not because of the temp of the motor.

Hope this helps.

Air/fan/heat only works on high in 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

look under the glove box. it is up high and requires removing to the glove box at times to fully access it. it also requires a star bit to remove it. sometimes a philips head will get the job done too. unfortunately the wiring harness gets cooked when this relay fails. you will see this when you take the relay apart. this requires cutting the harness free and putting the wires into the new harness that comes with the repair kit you can buy from the dealership. the kit comes with large size and smaller size wire. you can disregard the smaller size wire. you only need the larger ones. you will see. www.wjjeeps.com is a great reference for repair. tis what i used.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo air only works on high

The blower motor resistor is bad. The reisistor is located under the dash by the blower motor. If the car has auto temp, the resistor is like a small module and can be expensive.

Heating and air conditioning

The blower motor works on high setting ONLY when the blower resistor is bad. The blower motor resistor is held in place with 2 screws and attached into the heater housing under the right side of the dashboard. You can identify the resistor by the big wires that are connected to the connector. If this heating/cooling system is the auto temp type, the part is a bit high on the price.

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
