I need more info on what it is you need exactly, please explain what is wrong with the shifter, cable broken what?

Testimonial: "Okay apologies, it's an automatic not manual first of all and the problem is the spring inside the the handle for the button the driver would depress to shift the vehicle from park to drive failed and I thought the repair would be simple so I bought a replacement "gear shift knob" and it looks like the right one but I cannot seem to find any info on how to remove the old one. There are no visible screws or pins of any kind. I have scanned the internet and asked many mechanics and no one seems to have any information on how to remove it. This car is still in everyday use and I am reluctant to try anything that will disable it completely and I will be damned if I am going to pay the Ford Dealership $500 for the repair. Thanx"

I have only done one of these years and years ago and not sure, but found this on a year like yours, which is first generation.
"There should be a little opening on the stalk just enough to fit a flat blade in there, take the flat blade and there should be a u clamp in there just pry it out then tap it up and it should come out, that's on my 94 model.

2000 ford mercury 3.0, shifter wont move. had a fender bender, put it into park and it wouldn't come back out.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

For more troubleshooting, I suggest you to get the Following help link checked, its complete step by step procedure to inspect gear shift issues: -----

These will help.

I want to add automatic transmisson fluid to my 1993 mercury sable... but can't figure out where to put it?

Alright.
It's time to buy an automatic transmission funnel, or get really creative! An automatic transmission funnell is about 2 feet long or more, has a regular funnel with a really long neck.
The hose and neck are small.
You put the fluid in the tube that holds the dipstick with your special funnel.
Creative means you make your own funnel with a regular funnel and some small plastic or rubber tubing.
Be blessed.

2000 sable- can't shift out of park. shifter glides and needle on dash moves there's no gears shifting. is the transmission blown?

Not likely a blown transmission. More of a shifter cable issue. There is an adjustment nut on the ****** end. It could be loose or missing. If the nut is fine you have a broken cable.

1993 sable.. can't get it out of park

Possible that your safety switch is stuck. When you step on the brake with the engine running or the key in the run position, you should hear a slight click coming from the console under the gear shifter. If you hear this click at least you know that signal is getting to the switch. If you don't hear the click the problem is probably electrical. There is a small plug in the top of the console near the shifter. Remove the plug and try to insert a long nail or small screwdriver blade down into the hole. When you feel resistance continue to lightly apply pressure. By doing this you are attempting to manually overide the safety switch. Try to shift the car out of park while you are applying pressure with the nail or screwdriver. (Have parking brake set). I believe there is a section on this in the owners manual also. If you do hear it but it won't come out of gear, remove the console (very easy, can be done with a phillips screwdriver) Two screws at rear of console, two in the middle after you remove the rear section and a couple of push pins in the front. After console is removed you will be able to see under the shifter. On the passenger side you will see the safety switch. Try to move the safety switch linkage back and forth with your finger. If it moves easily it could be a bad switch. If it is very hard to move then the pivot for the linkage may be rusty and too difficult for the safety switch to move. This can be easily fixed by applying some WD40 to the pivot. It is located in the very bottom of the shifter assembly. You may be able to spray some into the well without removing the shifter if you have an extension tube on your WD40 can.

91 mercury sable will crank but the reverse and drive gears don't work

Check you gear shifter cable, also check transmission fluid level, if all that checks good, time for transmission overhaul.
