Question about 1995 Ford F150 Styleside Regular Cab

1 Answer

My 1994 F150 has about 63000 miles. All of the sudden today it started leaking transmission fluid pretty steadily. There was no warning. At first I just thought it was condensation from my air conditioner until I looked closer. I'd say it was closer to "flowing," rather than "dripping" out. How concerned should I be? It's leaking right at the bottom of the transmission.

Are you sure it wasn't transmission fluid? That would explain the warning lights-low fluid.

Your best bet , take it to a transmission shop or the dealer . Rebuild transmission . There is no belt inside the transmission .

1994 Ford Aerostar with 107000 miles. All of a sudden the engine sounds like it is "reving" while I am driving in OD. Got home and tried regular drive--same thing. Today-a couple days...

If this only happens only when the car is in gear then you may have to inspect first the fluid of the transmission. Check if it needs more or needs replacing. If there are debris and replacing fluid did not help you may need to clean the valves of the gears. You may have to inspect the torque converter while at it. Like a manual transmission it may be "slipping" at lower gears.

I have a 1994 honda accord, 88k miles on it. My car slips as it tried to shift gears. It just started this today. Whats going on and what should I do to fix it?

if it is a standard transmission get ready to replace the clutch. if it is an automatic transmission check the transmission fluid make sure it is where it needs to be if it still has a problem. have it flushed and filter replaced. if it still slips you may need to have it rebuilt/ or replaced.

Transmission stayes in 2nd and wont shift

I take it you have a A604 Transmission?
The Fluid Level, Fluid Quality, Leak management and Transmission Filter are pretty much what you can immediately check and change. Is the Fluid Level correct?,,,checked while the engine is on? When was the last time the Fluid and Filter replaced last?
My 1994 I did the above and in 2001 ended up replacing a gear. I then had to change in 2002 the Transmission Solenoid, AND a year after that replaced the entire transmission (rebuild)
Start SMALL (fluid, filter, gasket) and work bigger (Solenoid about $300) and then to the transmission ($1,500-$2,300). I kept the new solenoid I bought for future use.
PS. The A604 has/had major problems lasting only 35K before additional problems. It has now 28-engineering changes. They also renamed it to the 41TE because the A604 was so bad and took on so many changes.
Good Luck and let me know if this worked, or if you had additional questions or information I can help you with at fixya.com!

What is the best transmission fluid to put in a 93 wrangler with 101k miles, should i use any additive with the fluid and if so what kind?

i would use what the factory recommends you can find the fluid type stamped on your transmisson fill stick as far as additives i would recommend lucas transmission additive but be warned that if fluid is real dirty or has not been changed in a long time that with alot of miles changing trans fluid in high mile vehicles can start transmission to start slipping.

Gauges say no pressure in engine 1995 vw golf

Get someone to check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, to verify whether you have oil pressure or not. These engine/vehicles, have 2 warning sensors & a control module in the instrument panel. Once you know you have pressure for sure, then you can proceed from there.
