Question about 2005 Dodge Stratus

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus with a 4 cyl DOHC Engine, As I was driving I felt a chug and then the car just started slowing down, I tried to give it gas but that wouldn't work. Eventually I cam to a complete stop. I tried to start it but it would not start. I let the car sit over night and it started up but it chugged a couple times so I parked it. I have only had oil changes on the car and it has 105200 miles. I have never had a tune up or anything else done on the car...Any Suggestions?

Plugs should be changed every 30K, and wires every 60K. Sounds like you are way overdue for both. Start there, and if it still does it, I would suspect that the cam sensor is going bad. Make sure you get the Champion plugs it calls for, and premium wires, or the factory wires.

When is the next timing belt change on 2002 dodge stratus sedan dohc

Welcome to Fixya

If the engine is a 2.4 L SFI 4 Cyl, the schedule is every 105,000 miles. I do recommend 90,000 to 100,000 miles is the best time to replace.

2005 Dodge Stratus ? Camshaft Position Sensor causing problems (I

I had the same problem with my '05 Stratus SXT 2.4 DOHC. I've replaced the cam pos sensor and it seems to be running fine right now. On the Dodge forums a lot of the guys say that you need to replace the crank pos sensor too. I've bought one of those just in case it comes back again. Hope this helps.
