Make sure, with the belt off, that all the pully spin VERY freely. sounds like a component with a pully is locked up. good luck.

I have a dodge dynasty 1990 i replaced my serpentine belt now it wont stay on need to replace my tensioner pully how do i do it?

undo the big nut in front of the pulley. release the tension on the belt by adjusting the small bolt at the rear of the adjuster bracket . Take the nut of the shaft and pull the pulley off. Remember where the spacer goes at the back of the pulley.

Serpintine belt will not stay on

Something is not turning correctly. Could be a water pump or a loose tensioner. Check to see if everything is easy to rotate...alternator, power steering pump, A/C pulley water pump. Do this with the belt off.

1990 dodge Dynasty bad gas mileage and now cutting out real bad. Changed spark plug wires, spark plugs and fuel filter. Ran good for a test run right after installing items. This morning ran fine the 5...

May just be some dirty fuel, or clogged dirty air filter...try putting 2 bottles of fuel injector/carb cleaner in the tank to be sure dirty fuel has been treated. Did your Dynasty sit for a period of time? (Not driven or run for several months, or did you let the fuel tank get very low? Same remedy. Hope this helps..

Dodge Dynasty 1990, 3.33 liter eng. The belt

Check to see if all your pulley's are aligned properly. It sounds like they may not be. Put the belt back on and look straight down it. If it appears to have a bend, that needs to be fixed. If you have a carpenter's square you can use it to double check you eye. You can use washers as shims on the bolts that hold whatever is out of line. If it sticks out too far you'll have to grind or file it to bring it back in line or remove washers or spacers if there are any. Hope this helps.

My 1990 3.3 l dodge dynasty just all of the sudden stopped running. It really sounds like it isn't getting fuel. I am thinking the problem may be athe fuel pump. I tried to retrieve the check engine ...

to me it sounds more like the timing belt broke ...most of the time when a car with a timing belt at the age of your car suddenly just quits turns out to be the timing belt...have it checked....btw your engine is a interference type engine which means the when the timing belt breaks it bends the valves...meaning a major repair

Cant get old one off to replace it with the new one

Had the same problem, but it was the power steering pully, you have to get it from up under the car, it will be pretty hard to get the belt tensioner tool through there, but can't get it from up top.
