The back of the jeep is dropped to the floor and the air compressor runs for a short time only. the back does not lift

Sounds like one/both air bag are leaking, check around the rear tires, if the compressor continues to run with a bad air bag it will burn up the compressor and drain the battery. your truck has a self leveling system

Back end of my 2001 Ford Expedition FWD, Eddie Bauer, was dragging. Had diagnostic test run and found out it needed a new air ride compressor. Had compressor installed, but compressor continues to run...

The compressor should only run until the rear suspension reaches the desired height. If it continues to run after the suspension has raised to ride height then you may have a leaking air bag/solenoid or line. If you dont have any leaks it is possible the EVO(air suspension module} or relay is at fault.

My air suspension compressor runs periodically and is very noisy; when parked, my vehicle squats in the back.

You have a leak in one of the air lines, the compressor never fills the shock up with air because of the air leak,so it will not cut off, either the lines have a leak,or one ,or both shocks have leaks in them.

The rear suspension is down on my 1999 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer. The cause: while out in the woods I came across a small dip which cause my back left wheel to lift off the ground. The suspension...

I had a 1999 Expedition. When you put the 4x4 on it raises the vehicle an extra inch or 2.
It may help to turn the 4x4 off. Two wheel drive is a lower air setting.
Your original pump may still be good. The problem can be in the front. The compressor is not filling the front suspension to the cutoff point. It will lift the rear after the front end is at running height. Since you lost the front end first, the remaining air bled out there and then the rear came down. Once you shut down the car the suspension was done, all the air was let go.
There are adjustment solenoids on the body but you need someone qualified to repair this.

Air suspension compressor doesn't run

Hi, this is a common issue with most air ride trucks of this nature. the air compressor unit has failed and it will need to be rebuilt or replaced. its cheaper to just replace the compressor rather than to get it rebuilt. The most likely issue will be that the seal has been blown and it is unable to compress the air flow through the air lines.

Pleas rate and god bless:)

Air Ride Suspension Issues for a 1999 For Expedition 5.4L

It sounds to me like you have a hole or cracks in your airbag. The dealership typically diagnoses it as the compressor but that is only to keep you coming back and wasting more money on something that will never truly be fixed. The Compressor is the problem but the airbags are bad as well. When the air bag has a hole or leak in it the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag will kill the compressor. It sounds like this is what happened. I would recommend going to and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. This is a PERMANENT fix and ALOT cheaper than going to the dealership. I added the link below so you can check it out. I hope I was of some help to you Good Luck!!!
