First thing to do is check to see if the brake lights work, if they don't there is no power to the park lock out solenoid and the vehicle will not come out of park.

it seems that the gear bushings have worn out. you need to take your car to a mechanic to have the bushings changed. Also, please check it your car has enough Automatic Transmission Fluid.

i had the same problem there is a shift link cable that runs to the trans i think...the cable has a kink in it or somthing you need to go and buy a new cable for about $100 it will run alot smoother ..

When you experience this problem, check to see if your brake lights are coming on. It could be as simple as a brake light switch malfunction. If the brake lights are functioning as the problem is occurring then you could for example have a problem with the shift interlock solenoid.
