318ti is pinking when revved ,

The exhaust sounds like there is gas flow resinance problems, it runs lumpy when started

Your catalytic converter maybe breaking up. Have a muffler shop check it. You would want to use a factory replacement (expensive) instead of aftermarket if it needs replacing.

I gotta 1997 toyota avalon its running rough i ran a scanner it threw two codes po441 an po402. i need help figuring out wat these codes are

Those codes refer to a problem with the drive train in your Avalon. Here is what the codes mean.


PO441-Evaporated Emission Control System / Incorrect Purge Flow
PO402-Excessive gas flow through the EGR valve

The cause for these issues are either that the components are faulty or they just need to be cleaned.

Sometimes not always - puff of smoke when starting ( light colour) followed by lumpy tickover and noisey clacky sound from engine - all becomes ok when warm


I suspect smoke is just condensation in exhaust from suiting overnight. The other descriptions sound like it needs an oil change (noisy clacky) and lumpy starting sounds like dirty battery cables - clean them top and bottom. ??- When was last "healthy" tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters? I'd start there.

2004 audi tt 3.2 quattro auto intermittant start-up when cold,like not firing on all cyls.but with engine revving for a few minutes will then run ok.

If it runs lumpy when you first start it then it will be one of 2 faults, either the air mass sensor also known as the MAF sensor or the EGR "exhaust gas recycler" valve are you getting any engine lights? normally with the EGR you would but no so often with the air mass sensor.

Lastly it could be the 02 or oxygen sensor but check the other 2 first

V40 direct injection gdi . rich running & lumpy idle


replace lambda probe expensive but it will run ok after that, i dont know if you know how they work so here's a brief: lambda tells ecu how rich the exhaust gasses are, ecu ajusts fuel input as neccasery eg lambda says not anough fuel ecu puts more in and the other way round.
so if your lambda is covered in **** when you get it out just clean and put it back, if it looks clean enough it needs replacing!! jezza

I suspect that you have air leak from air induction system. try to chek the breather hose. there are two hoses behind the intake manifold one is connected to valve cover to PCV , check the hose condition and replace it if necessary.

sound like a blocked catylitic convertor, remove down pipe on exhaust and drive to confirm, also check fuel preasure regulator and delivery preasure

No power when you hit the gas, will no t shift


check end of tailpipe for exhaust flow when revving in neutral. ie:poss plugged cat/or muffler ps/be careful exhaust is hot listen for hissing sound/and very little pressure against hand.
