Question about 1999 BMW 318 ti
I have a BMW 3 series..318SE..problems Im having is that when at speeds over 50 or 60mph..the steering wheel wobbles..and then when ur doing about 70mph...as soon as you touch the brakes,,the steering goes all over the place..and i dont feel any vibration through the brake pedal.I have changed the front discs and pads..and also the wishbone bushes..still do difference.Even on normal driving..when I drive over an imperfection in the road..rather than the car to absorb it..feels like its very sloppy..please help:)
Per your description, I would take a look at your suspension components, tie-rod ends, steering rack mounts, ball joints and wheel bearings.
After the "wish bone" busings were replaced, was the car re-aligned? If the toe-in is not correct, it can cause the condition you describe.
Be very carful driving until you root cause the problem as you could easily loose control of the vehicle from a steering component failure.
Good luck, let me know.
