Looks as thought your geting power to the switch and motor thats why it dims the light, sounds like the window motor is tied up.

I have a 1997 Ford escort. The drivers side electric window has ceased working. Passenger side ok. What is the possible solution please

The window regulator has failed or the wiring to it or the switch is defective for the window. If the switch is ok you should see the dome light dim slightly when the window switch is operated with the door open to keep the light on, better to do this at night. If the interior lights dims a tiny bit then the motor is defective and you will need to replace the window regulator.

Passenger window won't go up

When you press the window switch button for the passenger door window turn on the dome light at the same time, carefully watch if the dome light dims slightly, this means the switch is ok and the passenger window electric lift motor is defective. You can also try stricking the bottom of the door while holding the switch down, this may cause the window motor brushes to unstick and the window will work for awhile again.

Window won't go up

Watch the dome light as you push the button, if it dims slightly, the motor may be bad, if it does not dim, the switch may be bad, keep fiddling with the switch if the light does not dim. You have to watch it very carefully.

Power window wont go up is it the fuse or motor

Ok in my travels over the years of auto repairs I have yet to find an actual fuse that controlls the power windows, so here is my educated guess from what you are telling me here, the power window wont go up, usually it is the motor inside the door, sometimes it is the power window switch and rarely it is a bad connection or broken wire, so here we go; first press the poer window in the close position...with the dome light on(interior light) does the dome light dim a little wuith you pressing the window switch yet the window wont budge? If you said yes the light does flicker itt is safe to say the window switch is fine and the problem is the power window motor...part should be appro. 75.00-100.00 after market, if the window switch shows no signs of the interior light dimming ever so slightly, I suspect the window switch is at fault, replace the switch panel, most repair parts stores stock them if not get one ordered from the dealership.

2003 Town and Country drivers side window will not work. Could this be a switch or possibly the regulator. Any way to check? Thanks,

There is an easy way to check for power to the motor from the switch. With the door open (dome light on) and the key on (engine off) engage the switch in either direction. The dome light will dim slightly if power is getting to the motor indicating a draw on the circuit. You may have to do this several times looking closely at the dome light for any change in intensity. If it dims in both up and down directions, the motor/regulator is bad.

My power window to my toyota tundra (2002)passenger window does not move up/down. Press switch, and no sound, no movement. what can I do to restore power?

try using the window switch on the pass side and drivers side. is the master turned on to allow the pass switch on? try closing the pass door while holding the switch in the DOWN position, sometimes this will jar the window loose. If you watch the dome light real closely while pushing the window switch down, it should dim slightly, it it does dim, then the switch is working.

The power window on the passenger side stopped working, why? could it be a fuse? or the motor?

Your passenger window motor is most likely the problem. It could be the switch. If you get into your car and key on engine off. Turn your interior lights on and try to operate the window....Look at the brightest interior light/dome lamp and see if it dims while you are trying to operate the switch....It may be hard to see but if it dims at all the motor is locked up and is pulling amperage from the battery. This is just a rule of thumb however it has never failed me as the motor pulling amperage is the only way that the lights will dim. if not it could be the switch. Hope this helps

2001 silverado passenger window will not go down

a very quick test to determine if the window motor or the window control switch is defective is this,( this works best in a shaded area) turn on the dome light, press the window up/down switch, if the dome light slightly dims then the window motor is bad, if not the switch is defective and or has no power to it.

Driver power window will not roll back up

A quick way to check if the motor or switch is the problem is to perform this test, at night operate the window switch with the door open, if the dome light dims slightly most likely the window motor is defective or the regulator is jammed, if no dim is observed then the switch is most likely the problem, very quick and easy to do.
