I have a 1991 LX sedan, it had the same problem that you have described. I when to the junk yard and get another alternator thinking that it was that the problem. But when I was dismouting the alternator I found that one of the two cables was rusty. And that was the problem. Check the cables for the alternator due to the fact if there is not electricity coming out of it your car will shut off. Hope it helps.!

SOURCE: how to remove starter from 1998 honda accord

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Caution: If you have an anti-theft radio, make sure you have the activation code before disconnecting the battery.

Remove the battery and battery tray from the engine compartment (remove the battery first, then remove the bolts for the battery tray and remove it.).

Remove the lower radiator hose and the wiring harness from the starter bracket. Make sure they are positioned out of the way.

Clearly label, then disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid (the smaller cylinder attached to the starter). Disconnect any clips securing the wiring to the starter.

Remove the mounting bolts (two) and detach the starter (pull it gently out of its housing).

Reverse this procedure for installation.

Hope this is of help to you.

disconnect the cable to the battery........there is 3 bolt holding the starter to the engine/transmission housing. You may need to remove the air intake manifold to gain access to the work area.

I'm confuzzed. Does an Acer have a Honda accord starter?

Disconnect the + battery cable. Disconnect all wires on the starter, and remove the mounting bolts. Wiggle the starter out of the engine bay, and replace with the one you want to use. Reinstall the bolts and wires, and reconnect the battery + wire.

The distributor is a high failure rate item on Hondas if I had to guess I would guess the distributor is the culprit. good luck.

1995 honda accord won't start

Sounds either like the solenoid on the starter is bad or the starter its self.First try turning on your head lights and then trying to start it.If it starts then you have some bad connections either on the battery or the starter. next if that doesnt work Try hitting the starter with a hammer while someone else cranks it.If it starts then the starter is bad..
