Question about Honda Civic

1 Answer

1998 Honda Civic SI engine stumbles and revs jump around between 3000 to 4000 rpm while in cruise on highway or city streets. Already tried changing the Distributor to replace the crank timing sensor with no luck as well tried another ECM to see if the problem was computer related no luck either Any one had a similar problem ?

Absolutley it could be the thermostat. Is the engine temp ok? Has the gauge changed position?

I have a 95 civic the RPM gauge jumps not a steady rise and sometimes the speedo does not work i dont get any check engine lights

Its very probably a bad circuit board behind the Rev guage and Speedo. Before you replace it check that the wiring harness is connected firmly.

can be a mass air flow, idle air flow ,or even a hole in the tube between the airbox and the throttlebody........any air leak will cause this to happen.make sure you have no vaccuume lines off either
