How to repair a leak pop up camper

You didn't say what material is involved and whether you suspect it is a defective joint or a hole caused by damage.

There is a host of materials available for all manner of repairs but used in the wrong place in the wrong way can render even the best of products virtually useless. Some products can be over-painted and some it is advisable not to. Some products produce a good finish needing little further attention and some need considerable finishing for it to be cosmetically acceptable. Some products are rigid and others have varying degrees of flexibility and strength.

If you come back with more information I would be glad to make some product suggestions.

Where can I find the low port to recharge my AC on my 2000 chevy blazer

The low pressure port on an AC system is between the evaporator and the compressor. The evaporator is the cooling coil in the dash. I believe you will find an accumulator just on the "out" side of the evaporator. The accumulator is a round aluminum container about 4 in. in diameter and about 7 in tall. It has a tube from the evaporator going in near the top, a tube/hose going from the accum. to the compressor and probably a pressure switch and a charging port. All these items are located around the top of the accumulator. That charging port is the low pressure, (suction side of the compressor). Don't over charge. Use just enough to get cold air from the system. I doubt this system has a sight glass in the tube near the condensor, but if it does, put in just enough refrigerant to where you no longer see bubles going past the sight glass. If this is a cronic leak, you must have the leak repaired. It is aginst the law to recharge AC systems without repairing the leak.

Thanks for using FixYa. Good luck.

How do you repair a heater core in a1998 gmc jimmy

You replace them, generally requires getting up underneath the dashboard and sometimes removing the dashboard. You can try one of those radiator leak repair goops which are supposed to fix leaks, but I have yet to see one actually work. You dump these into a warm radiator, they glop around the leak and seal it, according to the packaging. Any car parts store will have a host of these sitting on the shelf.

If the core is leaking you can just disconnect the heater hoses which connect to it and put a piece of tubing between them to maintain flow. About half the Jeeps I have ever seen have this method of repair, but it tends to be a bit cold in the winter.

How do you replace an air compressor in a 99 olds alero

TAKE CAR TO GARAGE OR DEALERSHIP.THEY HAVE TO DISCHARGE AND RECOVER THE REFRIGERANT FROM CAR STORING IT IN STORAGE RECOVER UNIT.AGAINST THE LAW TO LET OUT REFRIGERANT IN THE ATOMOSHERE CAUSING OZONE DAMAGE.WHEN REFRIGERANT IS REMOVED THIS WILL BE THE CHEAPEST WAY.FIRST GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE BUY A PACK OF O - RINGS FOR AIRCONDITIONERS SYSTEM.THEY SHOULD BE GREEN COLOR NOT BLACK ONES.THEY ARE THE UNIVERSAL O -RINGS NOT MADE FOR AIR CONDITION SYSTEM.THE REFRIGERANT WILL DESTROY AND CAUSE LEAKS.WHEN YOU BUY O - RINGS.BUY NEW ACCUMULATOR THE OLD ONE FULL OF MOISTURE.YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE EXPANSION TUBE OR ORIFICE TUBE.IT IS LOCATED AT CONDENSOR LOWER LINE FITTING.BUY 1 BOTTLE OF R- 134 REFRIGERANT OIL. THEN BUY NEW COMPRESSOR.WHEN REMOVING OLD COMPRESSOR POUR THE OIL OUT OF IT.MEASURE HOW MUCH OIL IN COMPRESSOR.OKAY TO REMOVE AC COMPRESSOR FIRST REMOVE DRIVE BELT.THEN SAFELY RAISE SUPPORT VECHICLE ON JACK STANDS ON LEVEL SOLID GROUND REMOVE WHEEL AND SPLASH SHIELD ON PASSENGER SIDE.DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR FROM COMPRESSOR AND REMOVE COMPRESSOR REFRIGERANT LINES.THEN REMOVE COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BOLTS 2 BOLTS AT TOP 1 OR 2 BOLTS ON BOTTOM OF COMPRESSOR.WHEN REMOVING OLD COMPRESSOR.SEE HOW MUCH OIL COMES OUT.SHOULD BE A OUNCE OR TWO.GM COMPRESSOR HOLDS 10 TO 8 OUNCES.BUT WE DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IN SYSTEM.WHEN YOU BUY NEW COMPRESSOR.MEASURE HOW MUCH SHIPPING OIL IT HAS BY POURING IT OUT.TO BE ON SAFE SIDE I WOULD POUR 2 OUNCE REFRIGERANT OIL IN COMPRESSOR. POUR 1 OUNCE OIL IN ACCUMULATOR.REPLACE ALL THE O -RINGS AT THE COMPRESSOR AND ACCUMULATOR AND THE LOWER CONDENSORS LINES WHEN REPLACING THE ORIFICE TUBE.USE NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS TO REMOVE THE ORIFICE TUBE.BESURE TO PLACE THE LONG SCREEN ON THE INSIDE.BESURE TO LUBRICATE ALL O - RINGS WITH REFRIGERANT OIL.WHEN YOU PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER.DONT OVER TIGHTEN THE REFRIGERANT LINES WHICH WILL CUT THE O - RINGS CAUSE LEAKING. TAKE CAR TO A GARAGE THAT DOES AC WORK.LET THEM PUMP DOWN THE SYSTEM AND LEAK TEST THEN CHARGE AC SYSTEM UP.THIS WILL SAVE YOU MONEY BECAUSE IF YOU BUY A VACUUM PUMP THATS ABOUT $400.00 AND MANIFOLD GAUGE SET A GOOD SET RANGE FROM $100.00 TO $300.00 DOLLARS.SEE YOUR AC COMPRESSOR $270.00 TO OVER $300.00 THAT ADDS UP.HOPE MOST THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP YOU. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS THE HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL CAN ALSO HELP YOU IT HAS PHOTOS AND INFORMATION HOW TO REMOVE AC COMPRESSOR.

Need help recharging ac iin a97 ford explorer

First it can be dangerous or fatal to service or attempt repairs or your vehicle's ac without the proper training or equipment so I will describe the proper steps for you to use to help ensure your safety. I'm guessing you have a standard recharge kit from walmart, autozone, etc. which consists of a pressure guage, screw on tap, valve, hose with attached fitting if yours differs let me know before proceeding otherwise, first attach hose to the low pressure charging port on the refrigerant line. This will be on the larger tube usually near or on the accumulator. the silver aluminum cylinder with several wire connections and 2 black plastic covers which will be your quick connect connections the smaller diameter one will be your low pressure side. Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection!!! check to ensure your connection is not leaking and check guage to see if any coolant is left over in the system. If it is completely discharged then ther is a substantial leak which could have caused your system to be contaminated with dirt/moisture loss of circulating oil in which you would just be throwing your money away recharging the system without finding the leak/s and repairing them. If coolant is still present, then check first for obvious leaks by checking for refrigerant oil on any hose, tubing, and fittings that are a part of the refrigerant system, next you could take some soapy water pour it on and look for any bubbles to appear which indicate a leak otherwise you would need a gas or coolant leak detector or a can of leak detector run through the system with a colored dye or one detected by a uv light. A small leak could allow your system to function for months before it fully depletes. Also if your compressor cycles on and off every couple of seconds that is from low pressure. Otherwise tap your can of r134a make sure the can remains upright at all times open valve to allow flow to low pres line your vehicle will need to be running with the ac on high cool DO NOT OVERFILL!!! keep your eye on guage I always put a thermometer in one of the vents you should have cold air between 38-45 degrees otherwise you may need several cans to completely fill system or one of the components I discussed earlier will need to be repaired for more efficient cooling. Let me know if you have any other questions and how this works out for you.
