It's a 2007 Chevy Malibu LS can it be the fuel pump cost it not to crank or start

I have an 04 Malibu and when I get hard starts when I'm in the car I just press the accelerator down about half way and it always starts right up, some times I have to hold the accelerator down a little after starting to stop it from stalling but it is rare.

Malibu 2001-2005 Fuel Filter - Removal & Installation

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:
   Fuel line from the filter using a back-up wrench Quick-connect fitting from the fuel filter Fuel filter from the mounting bracket

1. Install or connect the following:
   Fuel filter to the mounting bracket Fuel line. Torque the fuel line fitting to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm). Quick-connect fitting to the fuel filter Negative battery cable
2. Pressurize the fuel system and verify no leaks.

I had the same problem-my check engine kept coming up with crank sensor(replaced several times- the car would run for 2 days then stall again)finally checked and replaced the wiring harness and the car ran great for awhile. Now I have a whole new problem(abs lights started coming on and the gauges all died while driving at which point the car just stopped and woulkd not restart)thinking alternator(the battery works great in another car)
