Question about 1998 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

98 Toyota Sienna will "bog down" and get sluggish during acceleration. Idles fine and usually runs well when cold. Not fuel system or transmission-already checked by mechanics. Could it be the 02 sensor?

If you had an Oxygen Sensor issue, you would have the check engine light on at your dash. Have your guy hook up a scan tool to the car, and see if there are any codes stored.

It sounds like you catalytic converter is clogged. You can get a universal replacement cat from Jeg's for $50.
If it is a clogged cat, it will be getting really hot.

2000gc wont accelerate... Fuel filter??

Change the filter first and see if that helps, if not, have a fuel pressure test done.
Also check all the vacuum lines for bad hoses, all it takes is a pin hole in these damn emissions systems to screw up the whole system.
